A German "contactee" story told that on March 29, 1959, a 26 years-old technical draughtsman Horst Raps, from Lampertheim, Germany, after a lungs infection, was ordered by his doctor to make walks in the surroundings of Lampertheim, near Mannheim, and at about 8 p.m., he noticed a light in the sky which approached, made several turns, came down and landed in a nearby wood.
Raps walked to the place, saw a shining object hovering at approximately one meter on the ground. It was a saucer with blue to purple colors and a cupola on the upper surface, surrounded in luminous beams.
While Raps observed in fascination, a staircase is deployed, and a tall man in a shining rainbow-colored uniform emerges and tells him in perfect German:
"Excuse me, my friend, if I speak to you. We came to make contact with you and to warn you against great dangers. Do not aspire to other worlds, before, in your own world, order, fraternity and peace is created. In our world of peace and fraternity, there is no place for hatred and greed. You will still need much time to achieve this like we did."
The alien, whose name was "Sular", promises to come back at the same hour in three days, then reinstates his spacecraft and leaves.
Three days later, he comes back, and this time the extraterrestrial invites Raps on board the saucer. Raps enters the saucer's round room, there are a female person and a male person, and they go for a trip to the Alpha Centauri star system.
RAPS is allowed a look at outer space, he sees the earth, the sun, and soon the native sun of the Centaurians. He is taken along on their planets, sees their dome-shaped buildings in the middle of fields of beautiful multicolored flowers, sees the residents of "various human races."
He is led to the head of the government and receives their promise: "We want to help you and we will help you, if your men of the Earth seriously start to make the good in all its forms."
During a second space flight eight days later, Raps is shown a planet whose inhabitants fought themselves mutually with atomic weapons. Raps sees the deformities that it caused to the unfortunate inhabitants. Some of these extraterrestrial victims of the nuclear war, whom Horst Raps observed by the round port-hole of the saucer, did not have legs and arms anymore and crawled on the ground, others had changed to a green color and a form similar to that of crocodiles. His alien guides tell him: "For this reason we approached you, to tell you not to make the same mistake these poor creatures made, for you are close to doing it. In the event of urgency, we will be forced to intervene against your unwise way of acting. Mainly, your atomic weapons are a concern to us. Because by a possible nuclear war, your planet can leave its position on its poles, leave its planned trajectory and possibly cause a collision with another planet."
During yet another meeting, the extraterrestrials told him:
"We discovered the remainders of a long-gone civilization on Mars which presents similarities with the Chinese civilization. We Centaurians also come from the Earth. Our ancestors are the Atlantes, inhabitants of the continent Atlantis. Since one of the moons of the Earth (which had two moons then) fell out of control and threatened of a catastrophe, we left the ground in huge space arks and emigrated on one of planets in the Alpha Centauri system. As ancestors of the men of the Earth, we endeavored to survey the system of the sun and the earth and to contact the men of the Earth. Our planet belongs to the galactic confederation and when the time comes, the Earth will be also invited to join this confederation."
These adventures and their continuations comprising no less than 30 other such alleged contacts by Raps were told in a 77 pages booklet by contactee J. Freitas de Guimaraes and allegedly Horst Raps published in Germany in 1973. It seems Raps was then in a mental institution because he behaved dangerously towards children.

The Belgian ufologist indicates that on March 29, 1959, in Lampertheim, near Mannheim in Germany, Horst Raps, aged 26, made a walk on medical advice for he suffered from the lungs. Around 8 p.m., he saw a light going down from the sky, he approached and saw a shining object hover one meter above ground-level. It was a saucer of blue and purple light surmounted of a cupola which sent beams of light.
Fascinated, he saw a staircase come out and a large humanoid silhouette in multicolored uniform appear. This apparition spoke good German and came to alert the witness against great dangers, and set a rendez-vous to him and forced him to come back at the place three days later.
On 1st and 18th April 1959, Horst Raps was faithful to the rendez-vous set up on the 29th; he managed to board the saucer which in a minimum of time moved away and landed on Alpha Centauri. There he noted there that there are various races of people, that the dwellings are in the shape of cupola, and that one cultivates multicolored flowers.

The author indicates that a man of the name of Horst Raps published in German his space travels towards other planetary systems. On March 29, 1959, whereas he went for a walk, he saw a huge set of lights in the sky, which proved to be an elliptical shaped object that changed color quickly.
Raps told in his books:
"My heart beating and in an intense feeling of excitation, I went quickly towards the origin of this sound, and my steps became increasingly heavy, I would have said that it was like if there was lead in my feet. I even became slightly numb in the knees. That is something that had never occurred to me. I felt instinctively that here, something occurred, which does not happen every day."
Whereas he stood near this spaceship, he suddenly noticed that a scale of the staircase kind came out, and that in the opening, a tall an thin being like a human appeared, wearing a shining suit of rainbow color.
To his amazement, this extraterrestrial spoke to him by telepathy in perfect German, saying "We came to contact you to warn you of great dangers."
The continuation of the story is similar to the report in "UFO Geheimnisse" [ug1], but some additional information is given.
For example, some of the extraterrestrial who had been victims of the nuclear war, that Horst Raps could observe by the round port-hole of the saucer, did not have arm or legs anymore and crawled on the ground, others had changed to a green color and a form similar to that of crocodiles.
The author comments on the story by indicating that this naive tale went much further in imagination than those of Adamski and others contactees.

As he walked he sees a light coming down from the sky. The light approaches and he sees an object within hovering one meter above the ground. The craft is saucer-shaped surrounded in a blue-violet light; it is surmounted with a cupola, which emits bright beams of light. Fascinated he sees a stairway descend to the ground and a tall heavyset man-like figure emerges. The figure is wearing a tight-fitting multicolored uniform. He approaches Raps and speaks in perfect German to him. He warns the witness of approaching future dangers and asks him to return to the same place 3 days later.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Lampertheim, Germany, on April 1, 1959, at an unknown time, Horst Raps returned to the previously appointed site and again found the hovering blue-violet disc and the tall extraterrestrial awaiting him. This time he was invited onboard the UFO and supposedly taken on a ride to a planet in the Alpha Centauri Constellation. There he encountered various races of people, which lived in dwellings shaped like cupolas and cultivate multicolored flowers.

Werner Walter indicates that the technical draughtsman Horst Raps, of Lampertheim, told he had more than 30 contacts with men from Alpha Centauri between 1959 and 1976, in particular, contacts with the alien "Sular", whom Raps met three times and who told him of his extraterrestrial socialist paradise.

In his story of UFO lore in Germany, Werner Walter tells of a "contactee" conference on June 15, 1972, at the Wiesbaden Casino in Germany, and indicates that one of the speakers was Horst Raps who was scheduled to tell about his space flights to other planetary systems.

Horst Raps, an engineer from Lampertheim, submitted a report on typical contacts events, and in addition to seeing various UFOs, saw other imaginary things around him. Lastly, he suffered from mental confusion and attended an institute of mental health because of sexual abuses on children.
This is one of the many Adamski-inspired "contactee" stories from the German sensationalist saucerist fringe.
