According to fragmentary ufological sources, Richard Price affirmed as soon as 1964, perhaps only in 1981, that early one evening of September 1955, in a hilly wooded sector close to a cemetery in Troy, state of New York, USA, when he was 8 years old, he played with a friend, when both heard a strong and strange noise resembled that of a steam locomotive.
Some versions indicate that he and his friend went to check what the origin of the noise was, but found anything, then returned to nearby coal yard and separated. Other versions say that they went to see what it was, but the young girl was afraid and stopped while Price continued alone towards the source of the noise.
He thus went alone in a clearing in the wood, where he saw, depending on the versions, either one, or two beings standing near a tree. Approaching, he realized they were not human, and he started to run away, but suddenly lost control of his body and was forced back to join the creatures.
The entities are described as small, humanoid, with plastic helmets either clear or transparent and with a yellow edge, uniforms of one piece red on the top part and blue on the pants part, with a silver belt and a strap with the letters "GAF" on.
He was then led to a nearby object, triangular or hexagonal, depending on the sources, and taken inside. there, he saw many screens and all kinds of other equipment. He was forced to sit down in front of a huge white screen where he was shown images of other spaceship of various types and humanoids building them. He told that it was like some sort of virtual reality show, and said that himself took part in a battle between two "galactic fleets" of spaceships.
He said he was lead to another room, tied to a table in the center of this room, and the aliens used a device to scan all his body up to the neck, and then took an "implant" which was on the table, put it at the end of a long needle attached to a certain type of box and cable, inserted te implant in the skin of his penis, while he looked at the operation on some magnifying screen in front of him; it seemed that the aliens were "wiring up" the implant under his skin. After they removed the needle and closed the wound, one of aliens came to him, and said he must leave the implant or else he would die, then the alien helped him to dress again.
He apparently also told of an orange alien's planet, that he was brought to a place resembling a city, then he was brought back.
His grandmother reportedly told him to shut up about the incident, but in 1964, he told a girlfriend friend about it, and the story soon was known in the entire college where the other students ridiculed and called hom "The Spaceman". there was a fight, he was confronted by the princpal, claimed to him that his history was true. The principal thought that he was insane, sent him to the psychologist, and he then reportedly spent three months of drug treatment in a psychiatric hospital.
He realized that it was to better for him to admit that his story was not true, dais so, and was then free again.
Because of the equipment he had seen in the spaceship, he started an interest in electronics. A few years later, he read a story about an "alien ghost ship" orbiting the Earth in the sensationalist tabloid The National Enquirer; as the ship had allegedly been "detected" in 1955, he thought it was the one he visited, and told his story to a writer of the Fortan magazine Omni; the latter was interested, sent him to a doctor and put him in touch with a researcher, a professor of mathematics at the university of Albany, Ben Jamison.
About this same time, the alleged implant reportedly started to become visible under the skin by forming a small hard protuberance, and the doctor wrote a report noting this strangeness, telling hom not to worry as long as he does not feel any pain and deciding that there was no reason for extracting it.
In 1989, this "implant" broke in a part that was expelled through the skin, then a remainder which came out two days later. David Pritchard, a professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and also a ufologist, estimated that it was worth the try to analyze this implant; he met Price, received the two fragments, and with funding by wealthy businessman Robert Bigelow, ordered tests and analysis by the Pathology Group of the Wellman Laboratories of Photo Medicine at the General Hospital of Massachusetts, under the direction of Dr. Tom Flotte, a dermatologist who had long experience of examination of medical samples.
The group used photonic and electronic microscopy on the samples. It was found that the "three small appendices" at one end of the 1 by 4 mm thing were no alien antennas or wiring but cotton wire, probably from Price's underwear. All the results obtained showed that the thing was of purely biological origin, terrestrial, consisting in successive layers of human tissue formed around a certain initial anomaly or trauma, and some cotton fibers from underwear that were caught with it when the tissues had hardened.

The author, a reporter and writer who attended the entire M.I.T "Abductions" conferences and write a book about it, indicates that the first speaker after dinner was its co-chairman Dave Pritchard, who discussed a suspected alien implant.
Pritchard said the major problem with the alien abductions is that there is no "hard evidence." A conference attendee had earlier suggested that if all these implants were being done, they should show up on X-rays and MRIs with the same frequency.
Pritchard said: "Physical evidence probably provides the best way to bring into scientific consideration the hypothesis that there are extra intelligences present on earth. By itself, physical evidence is not likely to put abductions on the mainline scientific agenda, but it might, rather, serve as a powerful independent corroboration of the physical reality of some of the abduction testimony. Therefore the Talking about the question of the "pedigree" [the chain of evidence linking an alleged hard evidence and the abduction it should prove], Pritchard said that one case seemed to have a relatively sound pedigree to him: abductee Richard Price said the implant was place in his body, in the midshaft in his penis by aliens and over the years worked its way out. Price says he has conscious memories of the object being implanted in him; and that he watched the aliens wire it up on some sort of magnified viewing screen, and that a friend of his later took a photograph of the implant device protruding partway out of his skin.
Price's implant, Pritchard reports, is amber-colored and measures one by four millimeters. Pritchard examined it under a high-powered microscope and, according to him, it appeared to have a core of translucent material with a collagen sheen about it as a result of having been inside Price's body for an extended period. Projecting up from the object were three little appendages eighteen microns wide, or approximately one-quarter the width of a human hair. Pritchard's analysis of the object's elements indicated carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen were present, along with slightly less nitrogen than might be expected. What that means, he explains, is only that it might be something that grew in Price, and that what is really needed is some sort of interdisciplinary team of biologists, chemists, material scientists, and the like who would really be able to look at a supposed physical artifact and evaluate what it is.
C.D.B. Bryan quotes Dr. Pritchard saying that the affair was however not conclusive, that it will only make believers believe more and skeptics be more skeptical but "won't move the line at all".
Some time after the conference, C.D.B. Bryan interviewed Dr. Pritchard, and learned that after the conference he reveiced two parts of the Richard Price implants. Pritchard said they were examined at the pathology group in the Wellman Laboratories of Photo Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, under the lead of Dr. Tom Flotte, a dermatology who routinely examines medical samples.
Flotte's group used photonic and electronic microscopy on the samples. It was found that the "three little appendages" were no alien antenna or wire but cotton fiber, possibly from Price's underwear. Pritchard's update report indicated that "All the results obtained at MIT indicate ... that the Price artifact... is of terrestrial biological origin." The origin of the "implant" was described as "successive layers of human tissue formed around some initial abnormality or trauma, occasionally accreting fiber of cotton from Price's underwear that became incorporated in this artefact as this tissue hardened."
Pritchard explained that the thesis that the thing was caused by a reaction to an alien implant and not the alien implant does not stend: there was not even a small trace of anything from any implant, all was organic and biological.
It also appeared that the artefact was so small that Price could not have seen it with his eyes when it was implanted, and could not have described the even small appendage he called wires.

Patrick Huyghes indicates that Richard Price claims that one evening of September 1955, near a cemetery in Troy, New York, when he was 8, he encountered a couple of humanoids who took him aboard their craft and injected an implant under his skin.
Huyghes quotes Richard Price: "I was tied down to a table in the center of the room, and they had used a machine to scan over my body up to my neck. Then they took this implant from the table and put it at the end of this long needle attached to some type of box and cable. When they inserted the needle into my skin I could see on a monitor in front of me an enlargement where it looked like they were hooking up wires underneath my skin. Then, after they took the needle out and shut everything off, one of them came over to me and, before he helped me put my clothes back on, said: 'Leave it alone, or you'll die.'"
Huyghes says that Price was too frightened to tell his parents about the incident, but told it in 1964 while in high school to a girlfriend, and within a week everyone in the school was calling him "the spaceman." After getting into a fight, he was called to see the principal, who referred him to the school psychologist.
He underwent a battery of psychological tests and was given various medications. Because no one had even heard of UFO abductions in 1964, he ended up in a state hospital, was released after three months, but only after "admitting" to the doctors that the incident never happened.
In the next 12 years, he shut up about the incident, then tried to talk about it to UFO investigators in 1981. He was sent to a doctor who confirmed the presence of a foreign object in his penis. As Price felt no discomfort from it, the doctor suggested that nothing needed to be done.
In June 1989, while getting dressed, Price noticed the "implant" protruding above the skin, and about two months later it came out. It was a roughly cylindrical object, rounded at both ends, with at least six small appendages. It measured about 1 millimeter wide and 4 millimeters deep, it had an amber colored interior and a white shell.
Within two weeks, Price had turned over a portion of the "implant" to David Pritchard, a scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who thought scientists should look seriously at the abduction phenomenon. Pritchard said he agreed to analyze the "implant" for the reason that proving that life exists elsewhere in the universe would be the biggest scientific discovery of all time.
Pritchard found that the object was made of "the kind of material elements and chemicals - carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, and compounds - one would expect if the object were biological in origin and formed right here on planet Earth."
Thomas Flotte, a dermatopathologist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston supported Pritchard's conclusion, finding that the "implant" consisted of concentric layers of fibroblasts, a type of cell found in connective tissue, extracellular material like collagen, and some external cotton fibers. The human body apparently produces such calcified tissue in response to injury, either from foreign material like a piece of glass or a wood splinter, or from a trauma of some kind, caused perhaps by a baseball or a table corner. Flotte said it was a common calcification process, and that the cotton fibers probably came from Price's underwear and became incorporated into the body tissue as it hardened.
Pritchard noted that Price has a doctor's report indicating that he had something under his skin 10 years ago, and that he recalled the incident consciously. He concluded that while there was no sign that the "implant" was an alien artifact, his investigation does not rule out the extremely remote possibility that, "as believers might argue", the calcified tissue was actually manufactured by aliens who would be clever enough to make devices that appear to have a prosaic origin as natural products of the human body and fibers from cotton underwear; thus the case only "rules out the possibility of clumsy aliens, and does not rule out the possibility of super-clever aliens."

Marvelously, this display enabled him to take part in the events as if he were there.
He was then taken to another room where it underwent a medical examination and where an implant was inserted in his penis whereas it was told to him that he would die if he tried to remove it.
In 1964, in spite of the advices of his grandmother who had recommended silence to him, he told of his adventure to a girlfriend, and soon, his schoolmates know about it and called him "the Spaceman." There were gibes and brawls, and Richard was summoned by the director, and stated ha had not lied. The director was persuaded that the boy had become insane, and had him hospitalized in a a psychiatric establishment, where he was subjected to a heavy medical treatment. He realized that any mention of his abduction made him a mental patient and to return to a normal life, he claimed he invented the story. He was free after three months of hospitalization.
Motivated by what he had seen in the ship, he followed electronics classes. Several years later, he read in the sensationalist tabloid The National Enquirer a story about a "ghost ship" orbiting the Earth detected in 1955, the year of his experience. Pritchard took electronic microscope photographs and analyzed on the implant, indexed "A 889". The implant was metallic and coated with a biomaterial sheath that would enable it to remain in the body without phenomenon of rejection. The microscope revealed strings, twists, tiny hooks. The results were long to come because Pritchard worked slowly and carefully, and that it is difficult to analyze something unknown when one does not know what you must search for. After some time, Pritchard announced that the implant was not metallic but organic, composed of 90 % carbon, nitrogen and oxygen traces. At the MIT conference, whereas the audience had called the case "The Proof", Pritchard announced that its work was not completed. When it was, the results did not prove anything, and in 1994, interviewed on TV about the alleged implant, he stated that it was perhaps cotton from Price's underwear, there was nothing anymore about hooks and strings and other interesting details; this transformation causing the author's perplexity.

In his book on his own work on the alleged alien implants, Dr. Leir, a US podiatrist, recalls what was said on the matter, and indicates that one of the most outstanding cases was that of a person of the State of New York who said to have been abducted and who had an implant in the penis. This object surfaced with time, it could be extracted without the assistance of whoever, and he offered it to Dr. David Pritchard of the Department of Physics of the M.I.T.
Pritchard had initially examined the object under the electronic microscope, but found no unusual alloy nor convincing proof of its extraterrestrial origin. The analyses were financed by Robert Bigelow [a rich businessman funding UFO research] in Las Vegas, but it was said he was disappointed by the results and persuaded Pritchard to make more analyses, and the final conclusion was that the object was interesting, but impossible to identify.

Gildas Bourdais indicates that the most known case of alien implant is the bizarre story of the Richard Price alleged implant, studied during about five years by reputed physicist David Pritchard, professor at the MIT. We have here a typical "contactee" story, without no evidence since the only proposed evidence proved null, and single witness case. The meager descriptions of the extraterrestrial are not very encouraging, the description of the "spaceships" and the many alleged equipment are not available to me. The course of the experience described in the ufological literature is completely fragmentary and incomplete, and no investigation or checking seems to have been carried out, in any case, I did not find any investigation report.
The case falls down to the question: "why should we believe someone who says that at age 8, extraterrestrials took him on board their spaceship to take part in a battle between two 'alien galactic fleets'?"
I personally see no reason to believe in it.
And what about the meaning of the "GAF" lettering on the alleged aliens outfit? Is it "Galactic Air Force?"
