Charles Robert Stonor, born 1912, wrote several travel books from his travels to the Himalayas. "The Sherpa and the Snowman" is one of them, published in 1955.
He told:
"I found with my host a friend or relative, by name Dakhu, who hailed from Pangboche village. About four seasons back, Dakhu had been up above the village tending his yaks. During the afternoon he found one had gone astray, and as he made his way up into the crags to search for it, he saw about a hundred yards ahead of him, half-hidden by rocks, part of a hairy animal which he naturally took to be his lost yak. He called out to it by name, when the creature suddenly stood up and came slowly towards him, on two legs, agitated and seemingly menacing, for it began to pull up tufts of grass with its hands. It was the blackish and Thyangboche, another Yeti Hunt, and the Pangboche "Scalp" reddish-brown colour of a Tahr, fairly long haired, fighter coloured on the stomach, and of much the same build as a thick set man. Dakhu had never seen a beast like it before, but he realised it was a Yeti, and having no wish to come to closer quarters, the more so from its threatening and aggressive manner, and the way it stood its ground he made his way down as quickly as he could to his herd."
This entered in summarized format and without further information or comment in a "skeptical" ufology catalogue about 2016.

[... more Yeti reports...] Charles Stonor had already set off in December 1953 on a reconnaissance of the route to Namche Bazar, the Sherpas' capital, when he met a Sherpa of about 30 called Pasang Nyima, who said that he had seen a yeti three months before when he went to a remote area to take part in a religious ceremony in a sacred place. He heard that there was a yeti about and went off with several companions to investi¬gate. When they reached the spot they saw the yeti some 200 or 300 m away on a flat piece of ground sparsely covered with bushes. It was the first yeti Pasang bad seen. According to him it was the size and build of a small man. Its head, its body and its thighs were covered with long hair. Its face and chest looked less hairy and there were no long hairs on the legs below the knees. 111e colour of the fur was 'both dark and light' and the chest was reddish. It walked nearly as upright as a man and bent down occasionally to grub in the ground for roots. When it realised that it had been seen it gave a loud, high-pitched cry and ran off into the forest, still on its hind-legs, but with a sidling gait. Never once did it go on all fours. As all the villagers insisted that Pasang was speaking the truth, Stonor slyly asked him: "ls the yeti a flesh-and-blood animal, or is it a spirit?" To which the Sherpa replied with disarming logic: "How could it have been a spirit since we saw its footprints after it had run away?" Stonor went on collecting yeti lore and soon had several other first¬hand accounts of the beast's appearance. One afternoon in 1947 or thereabouts a yak-breeder called Dakhu who lived in Pangboche saw one some 50 m away. Tt walked upright, was the height of a small man and was stocky and covered with hair. In March 1949 another Pangboche villager called Mingma heard something like a stentorian human cry while he was driving his herd to pasture, then he saw something among the rocks corning down towards him. He took refuge in a stone hut, but was able to see the yeti through a large crack in the wall and to examine it very carefully. Stonor reports his description as follows: [... more Yeti reports...] |

1947. PANGBOCHE (SAGARMATHA : NEPAL) Mr Dakhu saw a humanoid being, about 1.7m tall tall, covered in brown red hair and with a conical head, walk towards him on two legs. The thing had broad shoulders. Dakhu left the scene to attend to his flock. Freeman 2011 p31 citing Charles Stonor |

Peter Rogerson writes about a "humanoid being"; which is clumsy since this is a Yeti story, unrelated to any UFO. Being a "sptikal" ufologist, he might have tried an explanation, but did not, as his goal was only to show that such "stories", invented or caused by misinterpretations, have always existed. The term "Yeti" does bring some information that gets lost with the term "humanoid".
