Ufologist Mervi Virtanen, from Finland, apparently reported that in Saarijarvi, Kullaa, Finland, on November 29, 1939, at 17:00, the day before the great Winter War began, 14-year old Arvo was in the forest with his father collecting firewood.
When twilight came, they headed home, and almost at once the boy noticed on the right side of the path, on a small rocky hill some 2-3 meters high, a strange device 3-4 meters in diameter.
He assumed it was a moonshine factory and since he had never seen one before, he wanted to have a look, but his father deterred him from approaching the object. He observed the device from a distance of about 70 meters.
He described the device as being 3-4 meters in diameter, narrowing at the top, which was hidden by the dense firs. The bottom section was round like a kettle and it was about 2.5 meters in height, supported by perhaps three landing legs made of 2-3 rods ending in triangular plates, which he would observe later. From the bottom of the craft emanated a "dull" flame like that of an upside down candle, 1.5 meters long. From the sides of the lower section of the object shot out 5-6 strong flames of different colors angled at 45 degrees down and about 1 meter in length, emitting a loud noise resembling that of escaping gas.
Standing outside the object, was a 1.60 meters tall human or humanoid creature, clad in an astronaut-like suit with a round helmet, which had an oval opening. It was carrying a box, which he was apparently using to direct 2 or 3 robot-like creatures, which had box-like heads. At least one of these robots lifted his legs very high when walking, so Arvo could see that the legs were like two rods below the knees ending in a plate. It was not possible to make a very accurate or detailed observation of their activities due to the twilight and covering trees.
The next day the Winter War began, but Arvo went to the landing site, despite his father's objections, who also refused to go fetch firewood with him. At the site where the object was seen, there was a triangular mark of a support leg. There was also a strong, unpleasant smell in the area.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Saarijarvi, Kullaa, Finland, on November 29, 1939, at 17:00, the day before the great Winter War began, 14-year old Arvo was in the forest with his father collecting firewood. When it was getting to be twilight they headed home. Almost at once the boy noticed on the right side of the path, on a small rocky hill some 2-3 meters high, a strange device 3-4 meters in diameter. [Ref. js1:] JEAN SIDER:
The author indicates that on November 29, 1939, at 05:00 p.m. , in Saarljarvi, Kullaa, Finland, the day before the great winter of World War II, Arvo was only 14 years old. He had left with his father to the local forest to collect firewood. When the day started to end both decided renter, and in the course of the travel, the incident described as follows occurred, reported by Albert Rosales, citing Mervi Virtanen, Finland:
Arvo sees a curious apparatus from three to four meters in diameter, which is on a small rocky rise two to three meters in height. This structure is as bright as the moon and thereafter he would never see this kind of object again. He wants to approach but his father dissuades some. He thus remains within approximately seventy meters of the machine to detail it. The object is round and narrow at the top, somewhat hidden by the density of the fir trees. The lower part is rounded like a boiler, and a height of about 2,50 m above the ground, supported by af landing tripod, each foot ending in a triangular plate as established a little later.
From the bottom of the apparatus a kind of 1,50 m length flame like that of a turned over candle emerges. On the sides of the lower part of the object five or six long flames of various colors spout out at an angle of 45 degrees to the bottom and approximately 1 meter long, while a strong noise resembling a gas exhaust emanates from it. Outside the apparatus there is a hman being approxaimately 1,60 in height, dressed of an outfit like that of our modern astronauts, with a round helmet equipped with an oval opening. He holds a kind of box, which seems to be used to control two creatures similar to robots, with cubic heads. At least one of these robots raises its legs very high when it walks, which makes it possible for Arvo to see that the two "tubes" under its knees end in a plate. It is not possible to see more details of their activities because of the twilight which fell and the thick foliage of the trees.
The next day Arvo came back to the landing site in spite of the anger of his father who refuses to go with him to seek wood. On the site where the object was posed, there are triangular marks of the landing tripod which the witness had not been able to see the day before. There is also a strong notable nauseous odor in all the surroundings.
Jean Sider comments that the comparison with a modern astronaut suit indicates that the witness revealed his observation a considerable number of years after the incident.

Regretably I do not know who reported the sighting, when it was reported, and how it was reported.
