ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Tonight during the Euro game "Austria Poland", sitting on the couch, my eyes were drawn to a light moving at breathtaking speed. The triangle-shaped and very brightly lit object, disappeared behind trees. No noise, very bright white light....If someone else saw this, I would be happy to know his opinion.... Thank you.

Discussion:

Map.

This soccer game Austria - Poland took place on June 12, 2008 and the TV transmission started at 08:45 p.m. As the witness sent the email that night at 09:47 p.m., we have a timeframe for the sighting.

The place is not very clearly stated, but is certainly Strasbourg. This is indicated in the title, and signature. Watching the game, probably from home said to be in Strasbourg and writing his email within minutes to an hour after the observation, we can reasonably estimate that the observation occurred in Strasbourg.

For the rest, the information is insufficient: no distance, no duration, no angular size, no direction etc. This could have been a meteor, if we forget the triangular shape; or a helicopter or plane if we suppose that the silence was due to the distance.

Evaluation:

Possible meteor or plane or helicopter.
