[Ref. sct1:] UFOLOGY MAGAZINE "URANUS":
3/5/50: Several inhabitants of Mulhouse, E. France, saw "an oblong body, shining like silver, dropping at a dizzy space from the sky, and shooting out a jet of flame."
"Uranus", edited by Eric Biddle, was essentially an English version of the French newsletter "Ouranos" about the flying saucers published by Jimmy Guieu.
The short description here is quite an obvious description of a meteor.
Moreover, it is possible that the date is wrong and the location approximate, so that this could be the case at the Markstein on May 1, 1950.
Probable meteor.
