In the "Contact Lecteurs" supplement of the ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit #93-94 of May 1968, Mr. Eraud, correspondent of the magazine, reported that between the end of June and the at the beginning of July 1954, at 8:30 p.m. a resident of Saint-Chamond, technician, anonymous, saw an elliptical disc in the direction of Saint-Etienne, of orange color, with metallic reflections, swaying slightly, and spinning at moderate speed.

Beginning juillet or end June 1954, 08:30 p.m.. F. yes in St-Etienne.
Resident of St-Chamond, Mr X..., technician, sees an elliptical disc in the direction of St-Etienne, orange in color, metallic shine, swaying slightly, spinning at moderate speed.

If the observation is indeed made from Saint-Chamond, the thing is in a West-South-West direction, median 242°, interval 226° to 263°.
The information is insufficient to risk an explanation.
