Summary:

The regional newspaper Ouest France, of Rennes, reported from Morlaix, on page 5 on October 29, 1954, that a 12-year-old girl, Anne Jégou, from Ploueznoch, boarding at a school in Plougasnou, claimed to have seen, while she was returning from school to take the Morlaix coach, an ovoid-shaped craft, about 1 meter long, cream-white in color, resting on the road.

She had come close to a meter and immediately felt like an electric shock that paralyzed her for a few seconds.

Then the "flying egg" moved slowly away, rising suddenly.

The regional newspaper La Liberté du Morbihan on page 10 October 30, 1954, reported the same thing adding that it occurred at 7 am and that the object did not emit any noise.

Note: this database writes "Plouquenast". Plouguenast exists, it is located in the Côtes-d'Armor; but I think, because this database makes many errors, that it was indeed Plougasnou, especially since the case is noted as CE1 and that I never found anything on an observation at Plouguenast in 1954.

Explanations:

Map.

Ouest France for October 29 does not give a date, La Liberté du Morbihan for October 30 said: "yesterday morning"; I take it that the date was probably October 28th.

If the story is truthfully reported by the Press and if the girl did not invent it, this was an extraterrestrial craft.

Those who advocate this this is "impossible", may argue that the girl lied, or gave a confused report, and/or that the Press distorted what was a meteor arriving from behind the horizon.

I do have a meteor reported on October 28, 1954, but it was at 9 p.m., not 7 a.m. But the date for this sighting is not certain.
