Between October 8 and 12, 1954, Blanzay, Vienne:

Summary:

In his 1997 book on the 1954 French wave, author Jean Sider reported a case which he had found in Le Journal de Civray, of Civray, Vienne department, for October 14, 1954, on page 6:

Between October 8 and 12, 1954, at an unknown hour, in Blanzay in the Vienne, a lady from the town who wanted to remain anonymous had seen as she was going to Civray, at a place called "La Combe D'Airoux", a flying saucer posed in a field by the road.

Beside the craft stood a small man as wide as tall with huge luminous eyes.

A reader of my Website found out that "La Combe D'Airoux" was probably "Combedéroux", along the D7 road linking Blanzay to Civray.

Subject: Observation of Blanzay (86-Vienne) between the 8 and 12 Oct. 1954

I saw on your website, about the observation of Blanzay (86-Vienne) between 8 and 12 October 1954, that you had not identified a place called "Combe d'Arroux" or a similar name.

On the IGN map of Blanzay (by Géoportail, for example), I found the name "Combedéroux" along the D7 linking Blanzay to Civray. I think this is this place.

Hoping to have informed you properly,

Best regards,
[Firstname Name]

Explanations:

Map.

Possible extraterrestrial visitors, but unknown credibility, succinct information, and no investigation.

The logical route from Blanzay to Civray is by the departmental road 7, on about 6 kilometers. It is a road in the open countryside virtually devoid of dwelling, the road is bordered of hedges and fields. There is a quarry on the left. I could not identify, in 2017, a locality Combe d'Arroux or some approaching name.

My reader [pgs1] specified the place.

But as of 2019 the location "Combedéroux" is not marked by a roadsign.
