Summary:

The regional newspaper La Vendée Libre for October 10, 1954 reported that "Thursday evening", so on October 7, 1954, around 6 p.m., Mrs. Marie Raud, widow Fabarez, at La Chaignée de Vix, according to her statements, saw in the sky an elongated cylindrical craft of blue, red and green colors, heading from north to south and leaving behind a white trail, for only a few seconds, after which "the craft disappeared in the direction of La Rochelle."

The newspaper said she did not have enough time to call witnesses.

Thursday evening, towards 6 p.m., Mrs. Marie Raud, widow Fabarez, in la Chaignée de Vix, said she has seen in the sky and moving north in the south, a machine of lengthened cylindrical form of blue, red and green colors and leaving behind itself a white trail, a few seconds only, and the machine disappeared in direction of La Rochelle. Unfortunately this person did not have the necessary time to summon witnesses.

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Vendée in Vix on October 7, 1954, at 18:00 hours, "a woman, in the Chaignée de Vix, says to have seen in the sky and moving north to south, an apparatus of lengthened cylindrical form of blue, red and green colors and leaving behind a white trail, a few seconds only and the machine disappears in direction to La Rochelle."
