In the 2000s, an American UFO sightings website indicated that on September 6, 1954, before dawn, in Meriel, an unidentified object was sighted by two witnesses, but it had an appearance and a behavior that most likely would have a conventional explanation.
The website indicates that this comes from the computer catalog of Jacques Vallée and US ufology group.
