On November 5, 1954, the newspaper Le Bien Public of Dijon reported that a 12-year-old child in Dijon had seen the day before at about 07:30 p.m., "a strange phenomenon: a gray blue light moving in the sky." In view of this strange event the child, who was in the rue du Palais where his parents live, was frightened and rushed away under the paternal roof."
The next day, the same newspaper quoted another testimony from a reader, and the testimony of a military pilot who from the ground in Dijon had made the same ovbservation and understood that it was a meteor.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5: A FLYING SAUCER AGAIN IN THE SKY OF DIJON?
A young 12-year-old resident of Dijon saw last night, around 07:30 p.m., a strange phenomenon: a blue gray glow moving in the sky. In view of this strange manifestation, the child, who was in the rue du Palais where his parents live, was frightened and rushed away under the paternal roof.

SATURDAY 6 AND WEDNESDAY 7 NOVEMBER: THE SAUCER OF THURSDAY EVENING: "SIMPLE METEORE" EXPLAINS A SPECIALIST -
In our issue yesterday, we reported that a young resident of Dijon saw in the sky, Thursday evening, a strange luminous phenomenon. Two letters from our readers have reached us on this matter, one of our correspondents declares to us: "I was looking towards the Place du 30 octobre when suddenly, in the sky, at a very great height, a bluish glow, then taking fire, having almost the shape of a V followed by a multitude of enormous sparks of extremely luminous fire. This machine rushed obliquely at a vertiginous speed, on the side of the earth, in the direction of Fort de la Motte Giron, it was very visible and dazzlingly clear. As for the other witness, an aviation officer, he gives us (very plausible) explanation of the phenomenon: "Going back, yesterday evening, Thursday, November 4, my home located rue de Metz, I was at the beginning of the rue de Gray, when I saw with my military pilot's eyes, the so-called "saucer." It was a magnificent meteor or bolide, whose east to west trajectory was very brilliant. The duration of the phenomenon, barely a second.

The same observation was made by two witnesses including a BA 102 [Air Force Base 102] pilot who declared: it is a magnificent meteor.

The author indicates that there was a meteor in Dijon on November 5, 1954:
Le Bien Public published in their November 5, 1954, issue, an information titled "Another flying saucer in the sky of Dijon?"
The newspaper said that a 12-year-old boy from Dijon had seen the day before, around 7:30 p.m., "a strange phenomenon: a gray-blue glow moving in the sky."
In view of this display, the child "got scared and rushed (sic) to the shelter of the paternal roof."
The following day, the newspaper made a correction under the title: "The saucer of Thursday evening: simple meteor a specialist explains."
The comment read:
"In our issue yesterday, we reported that a young Dijon resident had seen in the sky, Thursday evening, a strange luminous phenomenon. Two letters from our readers reached us on this matter, one of our correspondent tells us:
"I was looking towards the place of October 30 when suddenly, appeared in the sky, at a very great height, a bluish glow, then ablaze, having approximately the shape of a V followed by a multitude of enormous, extremely bright sparks of fire."
"This craft was heading obliquely at a vertiginous speed, towards the land, towards Fort de la Motte Giron. It was very visible with dazzling clarity."
The other witness, an aviation officer, "gives us the (very plausible) explanation of the phenomenon: 'Returning, yesterday evening, Thursday November 4, to my home located rue de Metz, I was at the beginning of the rue de Gray, when I saw with my military pilot's eyes, the so-called "saucer" It was a magnificent meteor or fireball, whose east-west trajectory was very brilliant. Duration of the phenomenon, barely a second."
