The local ufology group ADRUP found an observation of February 4, 1954, in Montbard, department of Côte-d'Or, in the newspaper Le Bien Public for February 6-7, 1954:
Towards 10:30 a.m., two residents of Montbard, Messrs. Couchoux and Belot, observed a strange phenomenon.
Looking up mechanically, Mr. Belot saw in the sky an object resembling, according to what he had described so far, a flying saucer; which moved without making a noise and a had a rotational movement visible to the naked eye.
All around the disc, there was a kind of luminous halo.

Last Thursday, February 4, around 10:30 a.m., two Montbard residents, Mr. Couchoux and Mr. Belot, observed a strange phenomenon.
Indeed, Mr. Belot happened to glance up and saw in the sky an object resembling - based on previous descriptions - a flying saucer.
This "saucer" moved without making any noise, and its rotation was visible to the naked eye. Around the disk, there was a sort of luminous halo.
Perhaps other people also observed this same phenomenon and could provide additional information, which we would be happy to receive.

SATURDAY 6 AND SUNDAY 7, FEBRUARY: A FLYING SAUCER HAS OVERFLOWN MONTBARD IN BROAD DAYLIGHT -
Last Thursday, February 4, around 10:30 a.m., two residents of Montbard, Messrs Couchoux and Belot observed a bizarre phenomenon. Indeed, it is mechanically that Mr. Belot, looking up, saw in the sky, an object resembling, according to what he has described so far: to a flying saucer. The latter moved without making noise and the rotation movement was visible to the naked eye. All around the disc there was a kind of luminous halo. Perhaps other people observed this phenomenon and will be able to give us other information we will receive with pleasure.

The website indicates that on 4 February 1954 at 09:00 in Montbard, France "Unidentified objects were sighted, that had an unusual appearance or performance. Two objects were observed by two witnesses for 99 minutes."

This author indicates that there was a flying saucer ib Monbard on February 4, 1954.
He indicates that in Le Bien public for February 6 and 7, a headline announced: "a flying saucer flew over Monbard in broad daylight."
He indicates that the article read:
"Last Thursday, around 10:30 a.m., two Monbard residents... observed a strange phenomenon. Indeed, it is by instinct that Mr. B, looking up, saw in the sky, an object resembling from what it so far describes a flying saucer."
"The latter moved silently and the rotational movement was visible to the naked eye. All around the disc there was a kind of luminous halo. Maybe other people have observed this phenomenon and will be able to give us other information which we will receive with pleasure."
Alain Lequien indicates that according to "ufology specialists, there is a good chance that it is the passage of a meteor."

The report is very brief and "journalistic", with little data. A meteor cannot be excluded.
