In a catalog of observations in Drôme and Ardèche departments published in their newsletter U.F.O. Informations of the 2nd quarter of 1982, the AAMT ("Association des Amis de Marc Thirouin") reported that the newspaper Le Progrès for November 2, 1954, or probably for November 2, 1954, had reported a sighting of October 31, 1954, in Saint-Ferréol-Trente-Pas, in the Drôme department.
The newspaper reportedly told that around 06:15 p.m., "several reliable people saw a high-altitude disk from west to east - was it a meteor or a flying saucer?"
