In his 1958 book on the 1954 wave in France, Aimé Michel reported, without giving any sources or details, that there had been an observation on October 2, 1954, in Châteaumeillant in France.
Other ufologists told the same later, but without more information, except for Guy Quincy assuring that it was a luminous sphere.

This ufology bulletin indicated that there was a case on October 2, 1954, in Châteaumeillant; which was a part of a "network" of aligned cases of that day, in their opinion.

In this ufology bulletin, Alain Barbe told that the coses of October 2, 1954, including the one in Châteaumeillant, were on a geometrical figure comprizing parallel lines with constantly increasing intervals; which he said could not be by mere chance. He published this sketch, whowing however only 8 of the 61 or more cases of that day:
