Summary:

In his 1997 book "Le dossier 1954 ou l'imposture rationaliste", author Jean Sider cataloged a case which he indicated to come from the local newspaper of Dijon Les Dernières Dépêches for October 30, 1954, on page 8, headlined "Echoes and words... Strange and hairy being... but without a saucer!" and signed: "Jacky". Because of this, and from the humorous tone of the artile, Sider concludes that "this event may have occurred, but it is impossible to prove it."

Sider indicates that this article told that in Les Rousses, on October 29, 1954, a local housewife was busy preparing the evening meal and was bustling around her pots, when suddenly, turning away from her stove for a few moments, she came face to face with a strange being, a sort of hairy anthropoid! The creature walked over to the stove which was "merrily" functionong and put its hand, or its paw, on it, then, without saying a word, took a box of matches that was on the nearby fireplace and sped off.

In 2008, Daniel and Fabrice Kircher, in their book supposed to tell us what the witnesses saw inside the flying saucers, indicated that according to an article in the newspaper Les Dernières Dépêches, of Dijon, titled "Strange and hairy being... but without a saucer", on October 29, 2954, a housewife from Les Rousses preparing the evening meal was surprised to find herself face to face in her own kitchen with a sort of hairy anthropoid, who without caring about her walked over to the roaring stove, put his hand on it without yelling, grabbed a box of matches and took off as he had come. The mild reserves of Jean Sider are not reflected here.

In 2014, it was Julien Gonzalez who republished the case in his book cataloging the "close encounters of the third kind" in France, in the form of the version given by Jean Sider but with an error on the month that became November instead October.

Reports:

[Ref. jsr1:] JEAN SIDER:

93 - 29 octobre, soir, Les Rousses, Jura.

93 - October 29, evening, Les Rousses, Jura.

An anonymous lady.

A local housewife is busy preparing the evening meal and is busy around her pots. Suddenly, while turning away from her stove for a few moments, she comes face to face with a strange being, a sort of hairy anthropoid! The creature walks towards the stove, which is roaring running, and puts its hand - or paw, your choice - on it. Then, without having uttered the slightest word, he sped off, not without having previously seized a box of matches which was on the nearby fireplace. Local source: Les Dernières Dépêches, Dijon, October 30, 1954, p. 8.

Note: The article is entitled: "Echoes and words... Strange and hairy being... but without a saucer!" It is signed: "Jacky". It is a little longer but without any other details than those given above. The tone used by the editor is rather humorous. We can easily guess that he hardly believes in this story. In general, hoaxes of that time have at least featured a saucer. A weird being without a UFO, suddenly appearing in a kitchen, he couldn't help but laugh. However, I remind the reader that in the case of Gâvres (n ° 86), "ufonauts" entered the witness's house. Later we will detail a case of humanoids stealing vegetables from a 60 year old farmer. And in Italy (see Annex 1), a peasant woman had a bunch of flowers pulled up! So why not a box of matches? Especially since the CE3s without UFOs, we know a good number of them very well documented. All in all, if we consider all of these incidents, we see that this event may have occurred, but it is impossible to prove its merits.

[Ref. dfk1:] FABRICE AND DANIEL KIRCHER:

The authors indicate that on October 29, 1954, a housewife of Les Rousses preparing evening meal was surprized to find herself face to face in her own kitchen with a kind of hairy anthropoid, who, whithout dealing with her, went towards the stove which whirred, there put its hand on without shouting, grabbed a box of matches and slipped away has he had come.

The authors indicate that thus came from an article in Les Denières Dépêches of Dijon headlined "strange and hairy being... but without saucer".

[Ref. jgz1:] JULIEN GONZALEZ:

This author indicates that there was a close encounter of the third kind in Les Rousses, Jura, on November 29, 1954, in the evening. An anonymous local housewife was preparing the evening meal and was busy around her pans. Suddenly, while turning away from her stove for a few moments, she came face to face with a strange being, a sort of hairy anthropoid! The creature walks towards the stove which was functioning merrily and put his hand there "- or foreleg, your choice -", then, without having uttered the slightest word, he sped off, not without having previously grabbed a box of matches from the nearby fireplace.

Julien Gonzalez indique comme sources les Dernières Dépêches (Dijon) du 30 octobre 1954; Jean Sider, le dossier 1954 et l'imposture rationaliste, pages 221-222.
