About October 27, 1954, Charente or Haute-Pyrénées:

Reference for this case: 27-Oct-54-Charente-or-Hautes-Pyrénées.

Summary:

At the end of the 1950s, a French archivist, Guy Quincy, interested in the topic of unidentified flying objects, compiled a catalog of observations; he noted therein, without source or details, an observation "around" October 27, 1954, specifying that the date was poorly determined, the time being given as 6 a.m.

He indicated that it was a cauldron-shaped craft, on the ground, with a diameter of 6 to 8 meters.

The location is also poorly determined, Quincy indicating that it was either on the road from Touvre to Angoulême, in the Charente department, or the road from Tarbes to Angos in the Hautes-Pyrénées department.

06:00 a.m.: "Road.Touvre-Angoulême" (Charente)? or "Road.Tarbes-Angos(Hte-Pyrénées)" (PLACE and DATE POORLY DEERMINED): craft in the s. of a "caldron", on the ground / diameter 6/8 m.

October 27, 1954 (vers): Rd. Barbezieux-Angoulême (Charente) (?) (or Rd. Touvre(= 6 km INS in the ENE of Angoul.)-Angoulême (?) or also: Rd. Tourriers (=17 km INS in the NNEast of Angoulême) - Angoulême?; or again: Rd. Tarbes-Angos (=8 km INS in the SE of Tarbes)-(Htes-Pyrénées) (?): (craft in the shape of a "cauldron" posed on the ground, diameter 6 to 8 m) (PLACE AND DATE POORLY DETERMINED / CASE SIGNALED AS HAVINF BEEN OBSERVED ON THE ROAD TARBES - ANGOULEME") (SIC)

Explanations:

Map.

Totally insufficient information.

Touvre is to the east of Angoulême, barely 8 km from the city center of Angoulême, in the Charente department.

Barbezieux is at 30 km to the soutwesth of Angoulême.

Angos is to the south-east of Tarbes, barely 8 km from the city center of Tarbes, in the Hautes-Pyrénées department.

These two possible locations given by Quincy are 270 kilometers from each other.

It could be two different observations, or one or two duplicates of other cases.

Tourriers, 16 km North of Angoulême, also quoted, could indicate a duplicate or a mix with the case of October 9 in Tourriers, of which "Touvre" would perhaps be a bad spelling.
