Summary:

Pionneer ufologist and author Aimé Michel reported briefly in his 1958 book on the French saucer flap of 1954, that in Malakoff in Paris, there were vague indications on some sighting of which it is impossible to tell if it was a shooting star or not, although its reported movement seemed to slow for a shooting star.

Much later, a US website did give the "meteor" explanation, whereas a French website and a German website silenced what could made think of a meteor.
