Strange findings make wonder whether the mysterious celestial visitors are interested
in the Lunéville country

Lunéville (from our editorial office). -- Since the news is about flying saucers, it seems interesting to us to recount a recent finding made in the neighborhood of Lunéville and which left all those who have realized its existence puzzled, for the fact is rather strange. A craftsman from Lunéville, Mr. E. S., owns a ground on the territory of Rehainviller, near Lunéville, between a railway and the Meurthe. Having gone there on Wednesday, at the end of the afternoon, he had noticed something rather surprising: his vegetable garden was ransacked at one place, while the rest was intact.

The craftsman having communicated his weird discovery to his entourage, it was thought that it was good to conduct an investigation.

This was done yesterday and findings were made on the spot. The terrain, which is on the edge of a dirt road, is about forty meters in length. At its end, on A trapezoidal surface of about 4 by 5 meters, the carrots and onions planted there are completely flattened, as if a heavy mass had landed.

Another phenomenon: towards the middle of this trapezoid, in two triangles and also one meter distant, the vegetation has absolutely not suffered. Finally, over a distance of just under two meters in the lower part of the trapezius, the plants were blown in the same way as they would have been by the exhaust gases of an engine.

Those are the facts. They are all the more surprising because no trace of footsteps or wheels could be found in the immediate vicinity and in the neighboring fields seeded with rye. Moreover, the Vegetables had not been crushed along the way, which seems to rule out the hypothesis of a trickery.

It is certain that many questions can be asked because, according to the findings, one has the impression that a mass has descended from the sky, vertically, to come to rest at this place. It should be added that the investigators could not find anyone who, recently in the region, saw any craft.

On his side, the Lunéville resident did not go on his property for a few days. Are we, this time, in the presence of celestial visitors who would be interested in the borough?

The saucers' merry-go-round

A "boiler's lid" chooses
a carrot field to land

LUNEVILLE. -- Would there be a correlation between a noted fact a few days ago by a resident of Lunéville who has a garden on the territory of the small community bordering on Rehainviller and the appearance of a "flying saucer", Sunday, appreciably at the vertical of the place where the suspect traces were discovered?

Sunday morning, a dozen inhabitants of the district Ste-Anne in Lunéville saw around 0:30 a craft of ellipsoidal shape and gray color which hoered in the sky of Rehainviller. MM. Jean-Marie and Raymond Jandel, residing on 11, cité Ste-Anne, were on their doorstep when the first exclaimed: "a saucer". He pointed to several people an object in the shape of "a boiler's lid" seeming to oscillate in the power of the wind, above the road of Rehainviller, a few kilometres from there.

Mr. Haudry, butcher on street of Lorraine in Lunéville, Mrs. Klein and his family, other people still, reident in the cities Ste-Anne, were the witnesses of this phenomenon. The saucer, which evolved like this during three or [sic] emitted volutes of smoke four minutes then disappeared above the Rehainviller forest, not without covering its retreat of a thick cloud of smoke.

Another person claimed: "It is not a bolide built by Martians, but quite simply a terrestrial guided missile which has landed."

But where did it land? Perhaps the place will be it discovered these next days by a farmer of the locality. In any case, one can establish as of now, a correlation to a few days of interval, between this appearance seen by a dozen of people worthy of faith and the preceding discovery of a site marked on a carrot field which was photographed recently from every angle by investigators in charge of pulling the lid off the "saucers."

Let's go back to this discovery. Mr. Edmond Schluk, metal worker, living street Béatricet in Lunéville, owns a vegetable garden between the railway and the Meurthe near the road which goes from Lunéville to Rehainviller through Chaufontaine. A dirt track leads to this garden of small surface where carrots and onions are grown.

Wednesday Mr. Schluk noted with amazement that part of his plantation had been destroyed. In the plain middle of the field, on about fifteen square meters, the carrot seedlings were literally crushed, the ransacked part having the shape of an ellipse. At the center, in two places of a few square centimeters, equally distant of the edges of the ellipse and clearly separated, the carrot haulms were intact as if the bottom of the mass which had been posed heavily in the garden, had two major holes.

This was enough to cause an investigation. These observations posed a number of questions, as nobody noticed during the day and the previous night any "saucer" or flying "cigar" evolving in trimmings.

No footsteps traces around the indicated place. At the outside of the ellipse and on only one side, the haulms of the vegetables had been puffed down violently. Lying or torn off, they seemed to have been flattened by the free exhaust of an engine. However, no projection of gas flaring nor of mineral matter could be found at this place nor elsewhere. Here thus in few lines, the first noted fact before the appearance, Sunday morning, of the famous "boiler's lid."

Ufologist Jean Sider found in the newspaper Le Républicain Lorrain for October 26, 1954, on page 7 the information underneath relating to an affair of October 20, unknown time, in Lunéville in the department of the Meurthe-and-Moselle.

The newspaper narrated that Edmond Schluck, a founder of street Béatricet in Lunéville, who owned a vegetable garden between the railway and the river Meurthe, near the road which goes from Lunéville to Rehainviller through Chaufontaine, made an unpleasant discovery: part of his sowings had been destroyed. On a surface of fifteen square meters, carrot seedlings had been crushed, the ransacked part having the shape of an ellipse. In the center, in two places of a few square centimetres of equal distance from the edges external of the ellipse and definitely separate, the haulms of carrots were intact, as if the bottom of the mass which had heavily landed in the garden had concealed two deep excavations. There was enough to cause an investigation. There was no footprints around the place. At the outside of the ellipse, and only on one side, the haulms of vegetables had been puffed up violently. Lying or torn off, they seemed to be flattened by the free exhaust of an engine. However, no projection of gas flaring nor of mineral matter could be found at this place or elsewhere.

The newspaper adds that no observation had been made Wednesday in the course of the day, nor the day before at the evening.

Luc Chastan indicates in his database that in the Meurthe et Moselle in Lunéville on October 20, 1954 at an unknown hour, "the witness who had a vegetable garden between the railway and the Meurthe, near the road which goes from Lunéville to Rehainviller by Chaufontaine, made an unpleasant discovery: Part of the sowings had been destroyed. Lying or torn off, They seemed to be flattened by the free exhaust of an engine. However, no projection of gas flaring nor of mineral matter could be found at this place or elsewhere."
