Summary:

In the ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit #139 of November 1974, the ufologist Jean Tyrode reported a case in Champvams-les-Moulins in the Doubs - his region - dated 1954 or 1955:

Mr. André Hermann and Mrs. Dominique Cachot were driving towards Audeux on National Road 67, when about fifty meters from the road, a light caught their attention, and they stopped, surprised.

Below Champvans-les-Moulins, they saw a stationary object on the ground or very close to the ground, which emitted a white light of a tone difficult to define, which appeared to be of an actual diameter of 50 to 70 cm, and emitted projections of light of very high intensity, like sorts of pulsations.

Curious, they got out of the car to try to approach this thing, but the object then went out and they never saw it reappear.

CHAMPVANS-LES-MOULINS (Doubs), in 1954 or 55.

Mr. Hermann André and Mrs Cachot Dominique, driving towards Audeux, on the N.67, when about fifty meters from the road a light caught their attention, and they stopped, surprised. Below Champvans-les-Moulins they saw a stationary object on the ground or very near, emitting a white light of a tone difficult to define. It seemed to be of a real diameter of 50 to 70 cm, and emitted luminous projections of a very strong intensity, like sorts of pulsations. Curious, they got out of the car to try to approach this thing, but the object then went out and they did not see it reappear.

Editors' note - Interesting observation, located about 1km S of BAVIC, in the immediate vicinity of a stream.

Explanations:

Map.

The information is too scant for me to see a sure explanation.

However, it could have been a tractor with its headlights, for example: a stationary object on the ground or very close to the ground, a white light, light projections of a very strong intensity, like sorts of pulsations, an extinction.

Mr. Tyriode forgot to note the hour of the sighting, or at least whether it was by day of night.
