A German UFO sightings database lists towards 2014 that there was an observation on October 16, 1954, in the Island of Aix.
[Ref. ubk1:] "UFO-DATENBANK":

With this much information, and no other source in spite of my search, I can only point out the passage of the large meteor that day - though this seems out of the boundaries.
"Ile Aix " is the Island of Aix, a small island that I know well and that French people would easily locate when told that it is not far from famous "Fort Boyard".
There remains the possibility that this is actually the observation in Aix-en-Provence, very far from the Island of Aix, the day before.
