In 1979, the ufologists Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker, who became "skeptical", published their book "La Grande Peur Martienne" ("The Great Martian Scare"), supposd to be their demonstration that the totality of the French flying saucers wave of 1954 does not include any unexplained case.
One of the cases they evoked took place, according to them, on October 14, 1954, in Usson-en-Forez.
All they tell about it is that the observation hour of 8 p.m. is doubtful, and that the witness was "untraceable after investigation."
[Ref. bbr1:] GERARD BARTHEL AND JACQUES BRUCKER:
The two authors note this case of October 14, 1954:
"Usson-en-Forez - 42 - towards 8 p.m. (doubt on the time): untraceable witness after investigation."
Totally insufficient information.
Barthel and Brucker gave no source, no witness name, no narrative, and I found nothing else about this case.
