In 2019, I found a Website by one Jacques Schweitzer, resident of the Aube department, who wrote articles about events in this department.
One of his articles was about the UFO sightings in the Aube, and one of the cases was that of October 17, 1954, at 3:15 p.m., in Saint-Germain: a farmer and his employees noticed two glowing spherical craft coming from the Northeast and heading West at breakneck speed.

[jcr1] did not indicate a source for this report which seems to be missing in the ufology litterature; I gues it comes from some local Press source.
The two objects might of course have been jet planes.
