Reiterated warning: this is a list of the people who were cited as witnesses of the Roswell incident. It includes first, second hand, third hand witnesses. It includes discredited witnesses, and why they were discredited. It includes controversial witnesses, with the reasons of the controversy. It does not exclude witnesses whose testimonies were that the Roswell incident was not the crash of an alien spacecraft.
Some of these witness names show a link on their name. This link brings you to a file I wrote about the witness The file includes what they have witnessed to, with sources references, what investigators said, and sometimes my own comments. It includes verified and unverified biography information, with the indication whether it is verified or not. For some of the witness names, there is no link; this is because I have not finished this work yet; but on the long run I plan to write such a file for all witnesses.

"What exactly do you mean by "a witness?" I see names of people who weren't even there."
I have a very broad acceptance of what a "witness" is. For example, if a person states "I built the balloon that crashed at Roswell" I consider this person to be a witness even if the person was never in New Mexico or did not launch the balloon. If a person would claim "last year in the Bahamas my wife and I met an alien who survived the Roswell crash," I will use my own subjective judgment to decide if I include this witness in the list or not. If you feel that the list is biased because of that, please let me know in a facts-based manner.
"You are listing as witness someone which has been discredited."
The list willingly comprises also discredited witness names. I do not intend to hide frauds or promote frauds as truths, I intend that a discredited witnesses' testimonies and statements can be viewed from a link in this list. When there is no such link yet, it means that I have some work to do and not that the witness is discredited or not discredited. In other words, when there is no other information available here than a name of a person, feel free to consider this witness as non-existent or fraudulent or balloon witness.
"I see a person's name here, this person has clearly stated that no UFO crashed at Roswell."
If this is so, then this is what you will find behind the link on this person's name. If there is no such link yet, then it means that I still have work to do about it. Feel free to consider that for any name without additional information, the witness has testified of nothing or of balloon debris recovery.
"You are biased, you present more witnesses in favor of this than in favor of that explanation."

I intend to document all claims, even contradictory, or false. The reader will be in position to notice contradictions by himself.

I am sorry that you feel this way. I do not intend to disregard your criticism so please feel free to provide any additional witness information that may be useful, if possible complete and with accurate source references. If you do not have any references I will quote you as the source. Please understand that I will disregard anonymous unsupported claims.
"Why even bother? Why are you doing this? Hasn't all this been re-hashed over and over?"
During a long and vivid discussion of the Roswell affair on a French UFO-discussion group where I participated, several people have mentioned that there is not enough information on the French speaking internet on the Roswell affair. I thought I may help there. This page is English, but the site is bilingual. I need to provide both the original English and the French-translated documents and texts, so that my translation can be critically checked.

I do not know. You have to make your own opinion. I only wish I can help by providing reliable documentation. If at some point in this effort I come to a conclusion for myself, it will appear in an "articles" section among other position statements.
