Late in the afternoon of July 8, reporter James Bond Johnson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram was instructed to drive to the Army Air Field of Fort Worth by his editor, who told him a flying saucer is coming from Roswell. A couple of hours before the press conference, James B. Johnson takes four photographs, two showing Brigadier General Roger M. Ramey alone, two showing Brigadier General Roger M. Ramey and Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas J. DuBose. A few other reporters and photographers took at least three other pictures, two showing Major Jesse A. Marcel and one showing warrant officer Irving Newton. The press conference itself took take a few hours later.
