BASSIN D'ARCACHON

A luminous ball in the sky

Some residents of the Arcachon basin saw a phenomenon that seemed strange to them, Monday evening around 6:40 p.m. Mr. Manciet, a resident of La Hume (Gujan-mestras), was returning home when his wife told him that she had just seen a large luminous ball of yellow-orange color, moving from east to west in the sky. He thought it was a mistake when yesterday morning, while he was waiting for his train at La Hume station, he started talking to travelers who had also seen the same thing. So Mr. Manciet is wondering about this phenomenon when he alerted us. Is the UFO phenomenon back?

Apparently and after information obtained from the Gujan-Mestras gendarmerie, it would simply be a fireworks display most likely set off at a private home, the yellow-orange ball of light having been preceded by a shower of green sparks. Some may be surprised by a fireworks display set off on a Monday evening, in February, and in rainy weather... But perhaps it was children having fun on the eve of the holidays!
