Verona. -- A "strange thing from another world" gave cold to an entire neighborhood of Verona, Italy, on the night of Sunday to Monday.
Mrs. Maria Perigozzo, 50, and her two children, Luisa, 25, and Roberto, 20, claimed to have seen, around 1 a.m., from the window of their apartment, a sort of "flying saucer" that they described as "a strange flying machine" that gave off a whitish, then greenish glow.
Around 3 a.m., the two women went to bed. They said that shortly afterwards they were woken up "by an intense cold".
Luisa described the scene as follows: "Very close to my bed there was an enormous thing, surrounded by a greenish glow, which stretched its arms towards me. The temperature was freezing".
Her mother fainted and when Roberto arrived, awakened by his sister's screams, he saw the "thing" moving away.
Yesterday morning, all the inhabitants of the Verona district where the Perigozzo family lives also claimed to have been very cold between one and three in the morning. Diagnosis of the "specialists" collective hallucinations.
