UFOs in Canada, 1967:

The article below was published in the daily newspaper Le Nouvelliste, Quebec, Canada, on April 22, 1967.

Four people believe they saw a flying saucer

Shawinigan (M.S.P.) - A "flying saucer" reportedly flew at low altitude over Rang St-Félix, near Mont-Carmel. The unidentified flying object was seen by Gérard Lamothe, residing at 465 122nd Street, in Shawinigan-sud, who was driving on the Trois-Rivières road toward his residence with three other people.

Mr. Lamothe's wife, his 14-year-old daughter, and Mrs. Willie Rheault, his sister-in-law, also saw the circular object flying from west to east at an average altitude of 200 or 300 feet parallel to Rang St-Félix, coming from the Trois-Rivières airport.

Mr. Lamothe said that the aircraft, which had two blinding white lights each about 18 inches in diameter at the front, stopped perhaps half a mile from the road.

The searchlights in question then went out two or three times before the flying object turned on its axis and headed back west, faster than it had come.

The four witnesses were able to see at that moment a red light and a green light separated vertically by about six feet.

Mr. Lamothe stated that he heard no noise the entire time the craft was in his field of vision.

He also maintained that the object in question did not have wings. The authorities at the Trois-Rivières airport could not be reached to possibly corroborate or explain this information.
