NOVEMBER 3, 1978, NEZAHUALCOYOTL, MEXICO, MEXICO, ANATOLIO RIOS CRUZ:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Teenager Anatolio Rios Cruz claimed that on November 3, 1978, he was awaked by a powerful light which penetrated through his window. Astonished, he asked her aunt, in the house of which he lived, what was going on. She replied that he should not go outside because there was a very strong light on the top of a nearby hill.

Anatolio did not obey and came out to see the light. Very quickly, he lost the notion of time and he remained motionless there watching it.

He said that he then received "telepathic messages" from the beings which occupied the UFO. The beings which communicated with him said they were coming from "the constellation Sherox", (according to the newspaper "El Sol de Mexico") or from "Xer" (according to the Mexican UFO magazine "OVNI"). Rios also said that the "Galaxy Xer" is at 11 light years and 345 degrees 280 minutes of Northern latitude.

The messages were about the need for getting rid of nuclear weapons.

According to Rios, the "xeroxians" were 1.35 meters tall, have only one eye and "a retina similar to that of the cats."

He felt urged to write a series of signs he brought to the National Observatory so that they "analyze" it.

Shortly after his alleged experience, Rios was subjected to an examination by his schoolteachers in order to check his "mental state". Some judged he was telling twaddles, others that he told the truth and some others that this was a psychiatric case. In this examination, Rios explained, among other things, that he did not watch TV "because it is toxic".

Some periodicals of this time [end of 1978], gave a certain interest to a teenager called Anatolio Rios Cruz who said to be contacted by extraterrestrial beings. Information appeared mainly in the periodical El Sol de Mexico City and in N.2 of the magazine OVNI, the latter in an article signed by Raúl Duarte with the title: Extraterrestrial communication in the city of Nezahualcóyotl.

The story begins on November 3, 1978, when, according to his report, Anatolio Rios was awaked by a powerful light which penetrated through his window. Astonished, the young person asked her aunt, in the house of which he lived, what was going on. The aunt answered him that he should not go outside because there was a very strong light on the top of a nearby hill. Anatolio did care for this and came out to see the light, but very quickly he lost the notion of time and he remained motionless there watching it. At this time, he says he received "telepathic messages" from the beings which occupied the UFO. According to Anatolio, the beings which communicated with him said they were coming from the constellation Sherox (according to El Sol of Mexico City) or Xer (according to OVNI). The messages announced the need for getting rid of nuclear weapons. According to the young Rios, these xeroxians are 1.35 meters tall, have only one eye and a retina (sic) similar to that of the cats. According to Anatolio's story, he felt urged to write a series of signs he brought to the National Observatory so that they analyze them (?). Among other "information" Rios says that the Galaxy Xer (already not a constellation anymore) is at 11 light years (sic) and 345 degrees 280 minutes of Northern latitude. Shortly after his "experience" young Rios was subjected to an examination by his schoolteachers in order to check his mental state (?). Some judged that it was twaddles and others that he told the truth and some others that it was about a psychiatric case. In this examination young Rios explained, among other things, that he did not watch TV "because it is toxic". There was finally no consensus about the case, this is why there is not more data. However, in our opinion, the phenomenon could come from a starting psychosis of the schizophrenia type, since the story has some details specific to this type of disease. On the one hand the age of the young person, the invention of neologisms (strange words), the great quantity of things that made no sense, like his eccentric behavior.

Points to consider:

[hs1] rightly mentions the lack of sense in what Rios told. Perhaps it is useful to be specific:

Let's also mention that a single eye is extremely ineffective, a "stupid" configuration so to speak in terms of the evolution. A single eye does not allow the perception of the distances; which requires two eyes.

"Stupidities", absurdities, especially astronomical, are usual in the contactees speeches, the majority being uneducated in that area, not understanding many concepts like galaxy, constellation, not understanding light years, ignorant of the real astronomical distances, etc. But sone easily deceived ufologists, victims of their wishful thinking, prefer to believe or make believe that extraterrestrials really tell such stupidities with some aim, rather than admit that "contactees" are just generally uneducated liars.
