1978, YUTZ, MOSELLE FRANCE, A YOUNG UFOLOGIST:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Raoul Robé apparently indicated in his catalogue that in Yutz, France, in 1978, late in the night, a young man, chief of a local ufology group, said he found the possible traces of landing sites close to his house.

One night, he awoke to see a large humanoid with blonde hair wearing a shining uniform standing inside his house in front of a wall cupboard and seemed not to touch the ground, and suddenly disappeared on the spot.

Around the same period while the witness' mother was lying in her bed she observed small hairy being with enormous eyes and long pointed ears. The weird figure then jumped on a night table and disappeared while the witness approached.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Yutz, France, in 1978, late at night, a young man, head of a local Ufological group, reported encountering possible traces of landing sites near his home. One night he woke up to see a tall, blond haired humanoid wearing a brilliant uniform standing in his home. The figure stood in front of a cupboard and appeared not to touch the ground and suddenly disappeared on the spot. Around the same time while the witness mother laid in bed reading she observed a small hairy being with enormous eyes and long pointed ears. The bizarre figure then jumped on top of a night table and disappears as the witness approached it.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Raoul Robe Regional Catalogue, GPUN."

Points to consider:

The ufologist witness, whose identity is not disclosed, said to be a a young man, lives at her mother's place.

The alleged "UFO landing traces" do not have any intrinsic link with the reported encounters experiences, but those and the witness being chief of a local ufology group indicate that the UFOS were a concern of the young man.

The experience occurs at night, when the young man was sleeping. The experience is barely described, but it is possible to suspect a most commonplace hypnagogic hallucination.

The same applies to the mother's episode as she likely also had UFOs in mind, as she lodged the young ufology group leader, and she is also in bed when she "sees" a very different entity; it is possible that the young ufologist was casual when reporting the "disappearance" when he approached, it is not precise enough to determine if he had seen the "creature" or if it had disappeared before he came in.

In any event, if the young man had practised the ufology with serious and meticulousness, he would have written down and published a much more detailed report and given much more details than what appears in the short summary.

Although hypnagogic experiences are now quite understood in the medical literature on non-pathological sleep disorders and sleep phenomena, although there are knowledgeable ufologists who understand this phenomenon, many other ufologists are still unable to identify such causes when they apply and still believe such experiences are alien encounters or alien abductions.

I provide a few references among dozens about the topic of hypnagogic hallucination and sleep paralysis:
