Karen Lyster, a "clairvoyant and UFO Researcher" in New Zealand, reported in 2000 that one of her many strange experiences occurred in Sydney, Australia, in 1978 when she was 18.
She says she was working for RCA, an affiliate of the Record Company, and had settled down to finish off some accounting work on a Friday afternoon, when she had a very strange feeling, like a wave of emotion that swept over her and gave her a tingling feeling "like when one senses one's body has picked up something that your senses may have missed."
She could not focus on her work anymore and had a compulsion to go away for the weekend no matter how much she told herself that it was such a stupid idea.
A few minutes later she found herself searching through the yellow pages directory for a suitable hotel to stay at, chose one at random, and booked for the entire weekend.
When she arrived at the hotel she found out it was a "rat hole", "...like something out of the movie Psycho..." She goes into great details about the unpleasantness of the place.
After about an hour of just looking out the bedroom window as nightfall approached she noticed a very bright light up to the right, high up in the sky, so intense that she wondered what on earth it could be and why it did not seem to be moving in any direction.
She says that almost as if the bright object had heard her thoughts it began to descend, getting so bright that she had to shield her eyes from it. It seemed to be so incredibly close, now only about 50 feet above the water.
She then instantly found herself opening her eyes while now laying flat out on the bed on her back, the room being flooded with daylight, with the cleaning lady coming in, surprised that she had not checked out now. She thus realized a long period of "missing time" had occurred, and also found out that her shampoo bottle was 3/4's empty whereas she had bought it the day before and hand not used it. She checked her bag, it had not leaked out. She also realized she had missed all the meals.
She took a cab home, very disoriented, and all of a sudden had an avalanche of memories flooding back into her, and literally jumped right out of her chair and yelled "oh my god I was on a UFO last night!".
She says she remembered she had been sitting in the chair watching the light and the next moment she was aboard "something that looked like a spacecraft". Immediately ahead of her were "a bunch of people". She was terrified, disorientated and like a cornered rabbit as she found herself standing there facing these people.
She says they were two men and three women. The men were the closest to her, and the women were just a few feet behind them, standing more or less side by side. They didn't look menacing at all, in fact they were the most beautiful people she had ever seen. They all had black hair, and the most "pearl/blue" piercing eyes she had ever seen. Their skin was extremely pale and their complexions flawless.
She says she dived into her bag, grabbed hold of a large pair of scissors she always carried around with her, dropped the bag to the floor and held the scissors in both hands straight out in front of her as a weapon, firmly saying "don't come near me, don't come any closer" "I'll use this, I swear I will", "don't come any closer".
But the closest man lifted a hand and the scissors melted. Each part of the sucker ends started to roll back in a curling motion.
She stood up and again faced the man who had totally annihilated her scissors, but the UFO occupants all looked rather amused. The closest to her said "don't worry we're not here to hurt you... we only need to look at something" and "there is no need to worry, you will be alright, I promise."
She calmed down and asked them many questions such as "Who are you?" "How did I get here?" "What do you want with me?" but they gave no information except that they wanted to look at her hands.
She was lead through a corridor to an alcove where there was "a little machine" that had what looked like a mirrored surface - it was about 2 foot by 2 foot. She was asked to place the hands on top of the machine "as he needed to get a record. This time it was me who was amused...." as they apparently wanted to "photocopy my hands LOL!."
The beings then seemed interested about what seemed to be an image of her hands. She says that "Years later when I first visited a palmist I found out that I indeed did have a very unusual marking in the center of my right hand. It is a point that has six lines that interceded all in the center, creating a perfect cross in the dead center of my palm. It is like the Star of David."
Eventually she left through some corridors and rooms, sat on some chair, walked, and found herself on the bed in the hotel, laying flat out and being woken up by the cleaning lady who was unlocking the door.
Later with her daughters, she found the damaged scissors, but they were lost later.
After this testimony Karen Lyster goes on with a discussion about UFOs being something paranormal, citing Jacques Vallée, explaining how she was also "touched by an angel" etc.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that near Sydney, Australia, in 1978, at 1830, the 18-year old witness, who had earlier felt a strange compulsion to leave for the weekend and rent a room at an isolated, old hotel on the coast, was in her room, which overlooked the water, sitting on a chair, as it was getting dark. After about an hour she noticed a very bright light up in the sky that seemed to be moving in her direction. The bright object suddenly began to descend and began hovering very close to the window, only about 50 feet above the water. Then after an apparent time lapse, she found herself opening her eyes and now lying flat on her bed, it was now daylight and she soon was stunned to learn that two days had passed without her remembering anything. She went back home and as she sat in her room pondering what had happened, an avalanche of thoughts poured into her brain. She soon remembered that as she sat in the chair staring at the light she suddenly found herself onboard of what appeared to be a "spacecraft." Disoriented she watched a group of "people" standing in front of her. There were two men and three women, the men were the closest to her, and the women just a few feet behind them. She described the humanoids as the most beautiful people she had ever seen. They all had jet black hair, and the most pearl/blue piercing eyes she had ever seen, their skin was extremely pale and their complexions flawless. Feeling scared she reached into her hand bag and grabbed a pair of scissors, holding them in both hands straight in front of her, in a threatening gesture. She yelled at the "aliens" not to come any closer to her. The man nearest to her simply smiled, then very slowly began to raise his arm until it was straight out in front of him. The scissors that the witness was holding suddenly began to melt; each part of the scissors began to roll back in a curling motion, until they wound up in a very tight curl. The man closest to her was the only one to speak and told the witness not to worry that they were not going to hurt her that they only needed to look at something. The same man told her that they needed to look at her hands. He then gestured for her to follow and walked on a corridor that had a slight elevation upside. After about 10 feet they reached what appeared to be an alcove or indentation on the wall. There was a small apparatus there that looked like a mirrored surface, 2' by 2'. She was asked to place her hands on top of the machine, as they needed to get a record. The man then walked down the corridor and left the witness alone. The man returned then gesture at the witness to again follow him down the corridor. They stopped beside a room and was told to please wait there. Curious she entered the room, and noticed that it was shaped somewhat like a half diamond, with slanting walls and ceiling. The entire room was an odd red/rust color. She then walked out of the room and followed the corridor in an upward direction. The corridor came up to a very large room, that was nearly pitch black, and the only thing in the entire room was a very comfortable looking recliner chair. She approached the chair and placed her hand on the armrest, immediately the room seem to change, and she felt "alone in the Universe." She repeated this several times but soon the now familiar man appeared and told her not to touch the chair again and to follow him, as she walked down the corridor again, she suddenly found herself on the bed back at the hotel.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Karen Lyster".
As of 2011, the alleged witness Karen Lyster has a website called "UFO's a New World" (banner above), at www.karenlyster.com. It deals with the "Holy Grail", the "Majestic 12" hoax is supported, "Templars", "White Powder Gold and it's healing properties", "The Sphinx Mars connection", prophecies, Jesus, etc. The website is actually made of stuff pasted from all sorts of other crackpot UFO or New Age web sites.
She also appears on Twitter (https://twitter.com/UFOlady) as "UFOlady" and on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/karen.lyster).
The case does show that there isn't always a huge gap between "contactees" stories and "abductees" stories as some ufologist claim there is.
