Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

A story from fragmentary sources indicates that in September 1978, there were several UFO sighting reports in the north of Wales, U-K.

That would have begun on September 1 in the night. Farmer John Roberts hunted rabbits, when at approximately 8 p.m. he suddenly saw a shining and bright white light slowly going down from the sky near the village of Llanerchymedd, Anglesey. It is said he saw that villagers looked towards a bumpy field behind new residences. Others saw a large silver sphere above a field, or this field.

Approximately ten minutes later, Mrs. Pat Owen, in her bedroom with her 2-year-old daughter Adelle, reportedly saw a light, or this light. She was looking by the window and also saw three men walking through the field.

She said they wore silver gray outfits with a kind of hat on their heads, attached to the outfits. They were all well more than six feet tall. She saw only their backs.

She saw that the cows were terrified because of these men, they fled.

Frightened, she ran to the village to find her husband.

TEN YEARS AGO - September 1978: Anglesey villagers talked about their visitors from outer space ... as North Wales, England, police reported a spate of UFO sightings. It started the night of the 1st, when farmer John Roberts was out shooting rabbits. He said, "It was about eight o'clock when suddenly I saw a bright, shining white light slowly descend from the sky in the vicinity of the village." When Mr. Roberts arrived, villagers were gazing towards a hilly field behind a new housing estate. Mrs. Pat Owen was in her bedroom with her two-year-old daughter, Adelle, some ten minutes after Mr. Roberts saw his bright light. She said, "I happened to look out of the window and saw three men walking across the field. The cows were terrified of them and stampeeded away. They were wearing silver grey suits with a sort of cap on their heads which was attached to the suits. They were all well over six feet tall, but I only saw their backs and I was very frightened. I ran to the village to find my husband." North Wales police said that UFO sightings had been reported from Ruabon, Wrexham, Colwyn Bay and Prestatyn.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Anglesey, Wales, on September 1, 1978, in the evening, independent witnesses including one man hunting rabbits near the village watched a bright white light slowly descend behind a new housing estate. Others saw a large silvery sphere above a field. One witness along with her young daughter happened to look out the window and saw three very tall men walking across a field, these men wore silvery gray outfits with a sort of cap on their heads which was attached to their suits. The witness ran to the village to find other witnesses.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Robert Gribble, Mufon Journal #245."

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. in Llanerchymedd, Anglesey, Wales several villagers including a man hunting rabbits watched a bright white light descend slowly behind a new housing estate. Other independent witnesses saw a large silvery sphere above a field, and watched the cows panic and neighborhood dogs start barking furiously. A woman and her young daughter looked out and saw three tall men in gray uniforms with caps or helmets attached to their suits walk across a field. Three 6-ft.-tall beings, grayish garb, helmets, from white egg-shaped object that illuminated trees brightly, dogs barked furiously, cows fled, depressed circle and swathed path found at site.

The website indicates that on September 1, 1978, at 20:00, in Llanerchymedd, U-K., there was a case with animal reaction: cows panicked, dogs barked furiously. A bright ellipse landed, three beings were seen. One white ovoid object, about 10 feet across, was observed by two witnesses named Hesketh and Owen in a field for 45 minutes. Three 6-foot-tall humanoids, each wearing a gray suit and helmet, were seen.

Llanerchymedd UFO (1978)

On 1st September 1978 in Llanerchymedd, Anglesey, some young boys who were playing football saw what they thought was a helicopter land in a field close to where they were playing. They went over out of curiosity and found that it was a white object like a smooth nosed rocket. They went to fetch some adults who also witnessed two 6-foot humanoids in one-piece suits near to the object. None of the witnesses saw the object leave and local RAF bases denied any involvement.

Points to consider:

The reports of the events are rather confused, with a possible confusion with another case as regards [mb1].

The description of the three entities, as being men, with the description of their outfit, the lack of strangeness, makes me think of firemen in fireproof outfits:

Tenue de pompier argentée.

Was the "light" or "UFO" some fire that needed firemen intervention?
