JULY 26, 1978, BARNEHURST, KENT, U-K., MRS CLARK:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Authors David Clarke and Nigel Watson reportedly wrote that in Barnehurst, Kent, England, on July 26, 1978, in the afternoon, one "Mrs Clark" was stunned to discover that while she had been busily working in her garden, a "helicopter" had descended from the skies to hover just a few feet over her head.

Startled, she glanced up and saw two men in the cockpit; one of them was looking directly at her.

Coming to her senses, Mrs Clark run to her house. When she looked again the helicopter had vanished.

Later she realized that the incident had been even stranger than she had first thought. The helicopter had made no noise, in contrast to its usual deafening activity. Also, it had no markings and no landing gear. Furthermore, the cockpit glass seemed to be a simple globe rather than the standard design.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Barnehurst, Kent, England, on July 26, 1978, in the afternoon, Mrs Clark was stunned to discover that while she had been busily working in her garden, a "helicopter" had descended from the skies to hover just a few feet over her head. Startled, she glanced up and saw two men in the cockpit; one of them was looking directly at her. Coming to her senses, Mrs Clark made a beeline for her house. When she looked again the helicopter had vanished. Later she realized that the incident had been even stranger than she had first thought. The helicopter had made no noise, in contrast to its usual deafening activity. On top of that it had carried no markings or landing gear. Furthermore, the cockpit glass seemed to be a simple globe rather than the standard design.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "David Clarke, Nigel Watson Phantom Helicopters over Britain."

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website says that on 26 July 1978 at 15:00 in Barnehurst, Kent England, UK, "Mrs Clark was stunned to discover that while she had been busily working in her garden, a "helicopter" had descended from the skies to hover just a few feet over her head. Furthermore, the cockpit glass seemed to be a simple globe rather than the standard design."

The source indication is a broken link.

Points to consider:

Not only is it impossible for an helicopter at a few feet abovehead to be silent, but also, the rotor wind would have practically knocked the woman down.

It could be suggested that this proves it was not an helicopter but an alien spaceship; but the witness said the occupants were men. I do not believe that beings from another planet would be men.

So, a psychological explanation comes to mind, and nothing in the report suggest that at any time someone assessed the witness about this.

The List of issues below does not increase the credibility of the case.
