January 30, 1978, Strasbourg, Bas-Rhin, Mr. C. K.:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

A man, "C. K.", whose anonymity was preserved by the ufology magazine that published his letter allotting no particular credit to the story claims that in the night of January 30, 1978, in the northern suburbs of Strasbourg, he was watching television, then made some yoga, went to bed and fell asleep, to awake "little afterwards" with the impression that somebody called him. He thought of taking a dagger to go outside but was satisfied to take with a carry-key penknife, left his home, closed the fence, and moved towards the very close channel. At this time he heard a kind of "beep... beep..." which seemed to him to come from the end the street, and discovered a red and white twinkling light behind a hedge of pear trees.

He goes towards the tow path and sees a "craft" of a diameter from 25 to 28 meters, under which there is a sort of stool. He went on board of the craft. Inside, there was a central corridor of some 15 meters in length and another smaller corridor on his left, and two men of which he said that that they were "beautiful, of 2 meters approximately, with crimped hair, like oiled, brown-gray, dressed of tight fitting brilliant gray-blue suits, with a collar like an officer's but without visible closing."

He gave, on May 23, 1987, a short summary of his alleged experience indicating that there was five crew members in the craft, that he was invited to make "a trip in the galaxy" which he readily accepted. After two hours, he was in the presence of a woman that he described as a "blonde Venusian" and said he had sexual intercourse with her.

[Ref. ld2:] "LUMIERES DANS LA NUIT" UFOLOGY MAGAZINE:

The magazine, in a series devoted to reports of close encounters with UFO and occupants, indicates to have received a "strange story" about which the comment is that its credibility "is not among the best" and of which the authenticity "cannot be regarded as being obvious."

The magazine then provides a summary of a letter of the witness whose anonymity is preserved by the magazine that refers to him as a "Mr. K", initial letter of his patronym. The magazine indicates that "the investigation was carried out" in 1989 in the close northern suburbs of Strasbourg.

The summary of this letter of Mr. K. indicates that in the evening of January 30, 1978, he was watching television. The movie was not interesting and he made some yoga exercise, went to bed and fell asleep.

He awoke "little afterwards" with the impression that somebody called him. "Probably anxious" he thought of taking a dagger to come out but was satisfied with a carry-key penknife, left his home, closed the fence, and moved towards the very close canal.

At this time he hears a kind of "beep... beep..." which appeared to him to come from the end the street, and discovers a red and white twinkling light behind a hedge of pear trees. He moves towards the tow path and sees a "craft" of a diameter from 25 to 28 meters, under which there is a sort of stool. He then entered inside the craft.

Inside the craft he discovers a central corridor of some 15 meters in length and another smaller corridor on his [or its] left. He is in the presence of two men of which he says that they are "beautiful, of 2 meters approximately, with crimped hair, like oiled, brown-gray, dressed of tight-fitting gray-blue brilliant suits with an officer's collar but without visible closing."

He provides on May 23, 1987 a short summary of his alleged experience by indicating that there was a crew of five in the craft, that he was invited to make "a trip in the galaxy" and that he accepted readily. At the end of two hours, he was in the presence of a woman whom he describes as a "Venusian blonde" - the author of the article in LDLN wonders with common sense if he had meant "Venetian blonde" - that that this creature had for him "favors of which we will conceal the detail here" - indicates the author of the article, specifying that these favors would constitute a French equivalent of the adventure of Antonio Villas Boas, i.e. sexual intercourse between Mr. K. and this "Venusian blonde."

The article specifies that all that is simply what Mr. K. claims.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that near Strasbourg, France, on January 31, 1978, after midnight, a man felt compelled to go to a nearby canal and as he approached the area, he heard a loud "beep beep" type sound. He then saw a red and white light shining from behind a nearby hedgerow. Upon investigating he came upon a landed object with a ladder leading into it. He climbed onboard and inside two very tall human like figures met him. Both of these had shiny auburn colored hair and were very well built. They both wore tight fitting blue gray outfits. The beings were friendly towards the witness and apparently gave him a small tour of the "Galaxy" before returning him back to earth.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Denys Breysse, Project Becassine."

The website indicates that on January 31, 1978, at 01:00, in Strasbourg, France, in a residential area for over 60 minutes, a witness boarded a 25 meters saucer. There were four human-looking occupants, one female, and the case was similar to the Antonio Villas-Boas case.

Points to consider:

As Joel Mesnard, the author of the article in LDLN suggests in several places, there is nothing to make aynone sensible possible consider that anything is true in this story, apparently a simple letter.

This story seems to show that the fables of "contactees of the 50's" are not entirely extinct at least until the end of the 80's and perhaps this case should make people take with a grain of salt certain so-called socio-psychological studies ensuring that UFO - occupants accounts were "a fashion" and changing according to the folklore of the times. It may be naturally also possible that Mr. K. thought of getting some good laughter at ufologists' expenses with his letter, and simply took his inspiration in some old contactee story of which he could naturally have thought that it the sort of story that most "impress" ufologists.

By all means and until evidence of the contrary appears, I think that Mr. K.'s letter can be put in the "fables" category.
