In the end of the Sixties and the beginning of the Seventies, Eustaquio Zagorski, in Argentina, used to write about his space adventures with the extraterrestrials who took him on board a flying saucer on a journey in the solar system. He told to have married an extraterrestrial lady from Ganymede, and to have learned the "Varkulets" extraterrestrial language; which was only a permutation system of the Spanish alphabet. He corresponded with Spanish ummologist Ignacio Darnaude and was also a friend of Father Reyna, an clergman impassioned of ufology for whom he translated poems from Spanish to "Varkulets."
This character told that in Avellaneda, on March 11, 1973, at 08:00 p.m. two normally-dressed tall men speaking with an accent, inhabitants of planet Ummo, having long chins and pale skin, met hime at his home and showed him a device which they claimed that it could change anything into energy. It seems that he also claimed that they showed him or entrusted some two hundred photographs about which nothing more is known.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Avellaneda City, Argentina, on March 11, 1973, at 08:00 p.m., two tall men with long chins and pale skin, suddenly confronted the witness who has had previous encounters with entities, in his bedroom, these men wore ordinary clothing and spoke with an accent.
They showed him a device, which they claimed could change anything into energy.

In a chronology of the events and allegations related to the "Ummo affair" the ufologist indicates that Eustaquio Zagorski, from Avellaneda in Argentina received since 1968 "visit of Ummites of which one of them was called Tom Buchter," according to what this contactee had been able to deduce from conversations. He told in a letter to the Spanish convinced ummologist Ignacio Darnaude, in July 1978 that the Ummites had a laboratory with Albacete.
Zagorski wrote an 8 pages article published in Lima, Peru, headlined "Yo viajé en un platillo volador" ["I travelled in a flying saucer"]. In his correspondence with Darnaude, he told of his space trips to Ganymede, his wedding with a lady of a Jupiter satellite, the cosmic language "Varkulets" which was taught to him, and that the Ummites came back to visit and talk to him on March 11, 1973, givinh him "more than 200 photographs etc..."

In an interview, Fortean researcher Sigurd von Wurb from Argentin said:
| "Another curious case that I point out is that of a certain Eustaquio Zagorski, who during the year 1971, in Buenos Aires, said that he was in contact with a group of extraterrestrial beings which had taught their language to him. Zagorski was a friend of Father Reyna, who asked him to rewrite Martin Fierro in the so-called "Varkulets" language of these extraterrestrial. And since then, Father Reyna always carried in his wallet the Martin Fierro by José Hernández, written in Varkulets. Many years later, Oscar Galindez, a lawyer and investigator established in Cordoba, discovered that Zagorski had conceived an alphabet by creating a new sign each three letters. For the letter "C", he had a new sign which represented the "A , the "F" had one that corresponded to "B", and so on for all the alphabet." |
This is an example of the prolongation of what became known as "The Ummo Affair" in Argentina, in substance, one of the innumerable characters who were inspired by the fantasy tales of George Adamski claimed contact with extraterrestrials and told cock-and-bull stories of trips to the solar system's planet on board flying saucer, wedding with pretty Venusian ladies and so on. The originality here is that the character then linked his alleged adventures with the "Ummo" story. Thus he obviously found a sympathetic ear for his fables, as the so-called Ummites were claimed to look like humans - an idea that in the Seventies only convinced ummologists still found credible.
