MARCH 19, 1959, COLEBROOK, NEW HAMPSHIRE, USA, TWO SEMINARISTS:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

It seems the MUFON recorded that on March 19, 1959, at 09:00 p.m., two seminary roommates were outdoors on the grounds of the Lady of Grace Monastery in Colebrook, New Hampshire when they saw a silvery colored, Saturn-shaped, ovoid UFO descend over them.

The craft had lighted windows around its lower portion and blinking red, yellow, and green lights around its outer rim. It also emitted a loud humming sound. The craft flew towards and then retreated from the witnesses several times. They apparently suffered a period of amnesia.

Years later under hypnosis one of the witnesses recalled that the craft landed nearby on three legs and all normal noises ceased. They both were paralyzed and were both then floated up a ramp and taken onboard the craft, where they communicated by telepathy with four humanoids of differing heights, including a taller six-foot tall being that appeared to be the leader.

Both were given physical exams and several experiments were conducted on them. They were able to see a "mother ship" and other craft through a window in the UFO on which they flew, and were taken onboard the larger craft where they saw other human abductees.

It is possible that the entire case was only something told via an anonymous web form report.

Narratives:

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Colebrook, New Hampshire, on March 19, 1959, at 01:00 a.m., two men were on the grounds of the Lady of Grace Monastery when they saw a large silvery Saturn shaped object descend over them, the craft had lighted windows around its lower portion and blinking red, yellow and green lights around the outer rim, it also emitted a loud humming sound.

The craft flew towards and retreated from the witnesses several times. They apparently suffered a black out.

Years later under hypnosis one witness recalled that the craft landed nearby on three legs and all normal noises ceased. They were both then taken inside, where they communicated by telepathy with several humanoids including a taller six-foot tall being that appeared to be the leader.

Several experiments and examinations were conducted on them and they were taken onboard a larger craft or mothership where they saw other human abductees.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Morton Schafer, Mufon Journal # 302.

[Ref. dj1:] DONALD JOHNSON:

Donald Johnson indicates that on March 19, 1959, at 09:00 p.m., two seminary roommates were outdoors on the grounds of the Lady of Grace Monastery in Colebrook, New Hampshire when they saw a silvery colored, Saturn-shaped, ovoid UFO descend over them.

The craft had lighted windows around its lower portion and blinking red, yellow, and green lights around its outer rim. It also emitted a loud humming sound. The craft flew towards and then retreated from the witnesses several times. They apparently suffered a period of amnesia.

Donald Johnson indicates that the sources are Morton Schaffer, MUFON field investigations database, case # 930402E; Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid Contact Database 1959, case # 715, citing Morton Schafer, MUFON UFO Journal, issue # 302.

[Ref. mu1:] MUFON WEBSITE:

In the MUFON Case Management system online database, as of 2007, the case seem to appear as dated of "1959-03-19", a CE4 at 930402E, in New Hampshire, USA, with a description: "Glow Oval".

The case file view indicates only that the case was "Submitted by razor via e-mail...Information from witness narrative incorporated in Investigators Notes field below." The Investigators Notes filed does not show.

Points to consider:

Colebrook, New Hampshire, is the town from where, two years later, Betty and Barney Hill had departed by car the night when they claimed to have encountered a UFO and occupants.

Hypnosis does not allow establishing in any way that the "recovered" story or stories is real, or is imaginary, or is memory of dreams or science-fiction lore.

Only one of the two witnesses, both anonymous and not described as of their age and backgrounds, was apparently part of an investigation.

The mention on the MUFON CMS database that there was an email report by one name "razor" causes interrogation as to whether there actually was an investigation, or whether this person said there was.

All in all, the available data are for now totally insufficient to give much credence to the case.
