JULY 1955, LOVELAND HEIGHTS, COLORADO OR OHIO, USA, A WOMAN:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

It seems that New Yorker ufologist Ted Bloecher reported that in Loveland Heights, one night in July 1955, Mrs. Emily Magnone and her husband, awakened by their dog's barking, smelt a strong swamp-like odor.

Their next-door neighbor went out to investigate and saw, 15 feet away, a 3 feet tall little man "entirely covered with twigs or foliage."

Whenever she turned on the porch light, the little man disappeared, and it reappered in the same place when she turned it off.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Loveland Heights, Ohio, on July, 1955, at night, Mrs. Emily Magnone and her husband, awakened by their dog's barking, smelt a strong odor "like swamp." Their next-door neighbor went out to investigate and saw, 15 ft away, a 3-foot little man "entirely covered with twigs or foliage." Whenever she turned on the porch light the little man disappeared, but would reappear in the same place when it was turned off.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Ted Bloecher, and Humcat 1955-8.

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website provides a copy of the [ar1] report, indicated as source, with the difference that "at night" becomes 09:00 p.m. and "Loveland Heights, Ohio" becomes "Loveland, Ohio."

Points to consider:

Loveland Heights is actually in Colorado; it was possibly confused with Loveland, Ohio, possibly because there were several sightings of "little men" or various entities in the area of the latter city in the same period of time.

The sighting might be that of some bush or commonplace shadow with a vaguely human shape instead of a "hUmanoid"; the fact that it "appeared" only with the porch ligh off and "disappeared" when the light was turned on verily suggests this.
