[Ref. lg1:] LUIS R. GONZALES MANSO:

Luis R. Gonzalez Manso notes in his FirstHumCat catalogue that in Argentina, El Maitén, Chubut, on February 20, 1949, reported in 1970, from second hand sources, according to a retired policeman, a very excited salesman arrived to his military station.

He said that about 20 kilometers from the town, he had met a UFO.

Three human figures emerged, dressed with strange suits and something flashing in their headgear.

They were connected to the UFO by something like cords, and signaled the witness to stop his car.

Luis Gonzales indicates that his sources are a personal investigation in January 1978, and Los OVNIS y sus ocupantes, 1980, pp. 8-9, by Roberto E. Banchs, and La Razón, of Buenos Aires, for March 13, 1970, and the MAGONIA Catalogue case 73.

[Ref. an1:] ANDESENIOS.NET:

In a list of UFOs with occupants cases in Argentina, this web site indicates "February 20, 1949, El Maiten, Chubut, 04:45, a traveling salesman."

Points to consider:

Case 73 of the Magonia catalogue is a different case, that of March 18, 1950, in Lago Argentino, Argentina, by rancher Wilfredo H. Arevalo. Jacques Vallée's Magonia catalogue does not include this case, and could not, since it emerged in 1970 after Vallée pubilshed his catalogue.

The story emerged quite late, and regretably, the information is sparse.
