Millions of intelligent people believe in alien life forms, and their fascination with UFOs typically leads them to New Age beliefs. Is the church doing anything to reach this unusual mission field?

Percy Galloway thinks the same way. He has been a friend for years with "Kobel," who is a "Nordic"--tall, blonde and the other most commonly reported alien after the Grays. Kobel comes from the Pleiadian star system, out in distant space. He is 8 feet tall and speaks 1,000 languages.

A former machinist with gentle eyes and a soft voice who for the last 15 years has run Cosmic Connections--selling UFO-related materials around the country--Galloway recounts how he was first taken aboard a ship as a child. They taught him about astrology, science and electronics.

But they said he could not talk about the experience until he was older, as people would not understand. As he grew up, people thought he was strange. "I had this ability to do things that I should not be able to understand."

His guides came to Earth, he says, when the atom bomb was invented because they feared humanity might develop something even more destructive. They want to "try to infiltrate their learning, knowledge and spiritual growth for mankind to grow by," he says.

They have revealed to Galloway and the few thousand like him around the world who have been contacted that God is "not as most would predict Him to be. He is a teacher. He lives out in the center of the universe and watches and observes all that goes on but takes no action, but passes on spiritual wisdom to people."

Galloway believes Jesus came from another planet. He was sent here as another messenger to give us certain truth.

"But people put Him on a pedestal and made Him more than He was," Galloway says, adding that the alien guides want us to "strive to live in peace, to have a total awareness of yourself, love yourself, love nature, promote harmonic balance between your fellow man and help him along his way."

From Outer Space to Inner Peace

For Christian UFO researcher Joe Jordan, the beliefs Galloway shares are the almost inevitable destination for people who start to explore the world of aliens and abductions. Their search for the truth invariably leads them into New Age thinking, he says. And he knows, because he has been there himself.

The book he picked up at an airport bookstore 10 years ago to pass the time on a long flight drew him into an almost all-encompassing fascination with the unknown and inexplicable. He read as much as he could on the subject, and joined the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), which investigates UFO sightings from a scientific point of view.

He also found himself being sucked into New Age practices. He studied crystals and visited a "channeler." He sees his reflection in many of the people at Journeys Beyond.

"They're middle-aged. They've gone through a lot of things and come to a point where they have settled down, but they are still missing something, and that something is the spiritual fulfillment, and they are looking for it," he reflects.

"The New Age offers something that is very seductive, that is not biblically based, that is spirituality without accountability; anything that happens in your life is part of your life growth, whether it be drugs, alcohol or sex outside of marriage. Knowledge is the key. But the search is never-ending, and it gets you running in circles. You are chasing your tail. It's like catch-22."

Conference Visitor Says He Spent Time Aboard Alien Craft

They came from all over the Gulf Coast and as far away as Vancouver, British Columbia to discuss the unusual, the unexplained, the unseen, bordering on the unknown.

Nearly 300 gathered Friday for the Journeys Beyond Conference at the start of the three-day event being held in downtown Mobile at the Adam's Mark Riverview Plaza Hotel. The conference continues through Sunday.

Tabbed as the UFO and Paranormal event of the year, the conference is open to the public at a cost of $15 per lecture or $140 for 10 lectures. The workshops can range from $20 to $25 each. There is no cost to visit the vendor section.

The conference contains a little bit of everything: Astrological evaluation, psychic readings, alien-inspired jewelry, discussions of near-death experiences, entity influences, UFO crop circles and past-life regression.

"Our primary goal is to give the public as many opportunities to hear as many different varieties as possible and let them decide what they want to accept and believe," said Pat Crumbley of Spanish Fort, the conference director.

Some of the discussions can border on the religious. Bruce Moen, an engineer turned afterlife explorer, talked about his travels through the various levels of hell, and his discovery that continuing in that vein would take him further from "that place of pure unconditional love."

"Have you ever felt the sweetness of honey?" Moen said, describing a love that he says only the angels can bestow. "That's what it feels like. You hear of doctors who have given up on a sick child and the mother goes and starts praying."

Then the sick child makes a miraculous recovery.

"Someone in that land of angels was able to deliver such a tremendous amount of pure unconditional love that nothing could stand in the way of it," Moen said.

Percy Galloway tended a table covered with videos and loose-leaf books he had written about his experiences with the aliens. He still remembers the day at age 5 when he was invited by aliens to board their spaceship where he remained "for four Earth hours."

Since then, they have continued to communicate with him, sometimes visiting as many as 12 times a year, "depending on their schedule," he said.

"They were on a mission to educate, and they are in everyday life," Galloway said. "The aliens are just like us. Some are good and some are bad. They are just like humankind.

"There is a body of good aliens that are forming a confederation and a federation," he said. "Their main purpose is to keep the other aliens from interfering with the governing bodies of the planet's nations so that things won't become chaotic and start World War III.

If WWIII does start, however, "they have a planet out in space somewhere that's safe for us," said Galloway, now 60.

It's usually in the middle of Saskatchewan that Paul Anderson and his fellow researchers find the Canadian crop circles. Pasted on boards arranged on a display table are some photographs of what he says are this year's 19 circles.

"I've walked in most of them," said Anderson, who will present a lecture on the crop circles today. "You almost never get any burn marks and the crop keeps growing. It's not dead. It's usually a complex thing. The stalks are woven together, like interlocking your fingers. It's interesting."

Anderson said he hasn't seen whatever or whoever is responsible for the phenomenon, but the graphic artist said he hopes to one day have a chance encounter with the creator of the crop circles.

Lele Maloney of Fairhope attended the conference with her mother. She stopped a few minutes to scan some published accounts of previous conferences.

"I think, 'why not?'" Maloney said. "I don't think life is confined to what we see."

Five-year-old Percy Galloway reported seeing a movement in the sky. At first he thought it was a comet when it suddenly made a sharp right directly towards the witness and hovered about a foot above the ground 200' away from him. The witness stood his ground and did not run away. He described the object as circular, about 72' in diameter, with domes on top and bottom. It had a black matte finish. It emitted a soft musical tone type sound. At the same time a fog-like mist, danced around its circumference. After a moment a brilliant light burst from the craft towards the witness, which had to cover his eyes with his elbow. When he took a peek he saw a large square door that seemed to implode, and there before him, stood a tall, human looking man. He had platinum silver gray hair and very deep blue eyes and was dressed in white tights and a thin gold belt. He radiated a warm, benevolent feeling of love. He said, "Percy come to me." The witness did, carefully but unafraid. As he approached to within 20' of the man, he was convinced that he was kind, gentle and a loving person. He spoke to the witness without moving his lips and before he could form a question to ask him, he said, "Percy, we speak by means of telemetric---much like what you humans call telepathy." The stranger told Percy that as long as he was in his presence, he could speak to him the same way. Every time Percy tried to speak, his thoughts were read before he could mouth his words. Inside the craft, they walked down a cool, cave like hall. There was soft, white light everywhere but Percy could not tell where it was coming from. They entered a room in which 30 men worked on instruments. They did not notice them. Percy asked if he could go on ride on the craft. He was then taken to a control center where the man raised his hand in the air with the palm closed. The metal of the craft became as transparent as glass. The witness could see space. The man pointed to the planet Earth, which was about the size of a baseball. He told Percy that they were moving close to the speed of light and that they were going to move faster. He was taken to a special protective area of the craft due to the acceleration. He was placed in a room with a greenish blue light. He stood upright and although he could not move, he was aware of everything around him. A short time later they arrived at a mother ship, which was stationary at the edge of the solar system. The craft entered an opening in the mother ship. The crew and Percy left the small craft and were greeted by two human looking people. There were dozens of others present. As they walked down a hallway, Percy noticed three humans going the other way---a young white teenage girl, an old man, and a white male about 30-years old. They entered a room in which a ritual was about to start. Fifteen or twenty human looking men and women dressed in tight white pants and loose blouses stood in a circle. He felt that there was a leader present but he could not tell who he was. The participants stood with faces toward the ceiling, their eyes closed and palms opened outward. As Percy watched, each person's body took on a golden aura. The being then took Percy to another room. There he was offered white chips and crackers and a blue liquid to drink. Then he went to another room where he sat on high backed chair that looked like metal but was soft like cotton. A metal headset with two triangles on it was placed on his head. He was told that he would be able to read and understand what was on the viewing screens. The screen then lit up with images that moved at lighting speed. He saw medical data and formulas. It was like looking into the future. He was told that he would not remember anything---that it was a time capsule. Later he was returned to earth and while hovering 500' above the ground he was lowered to the ground within a blue beam of light.

5-yr-old playing in grandparent's peanut field; object descended to one feet above ground with "hum sound almost like musical tone." Entity called him telepathically by name. He rose up into doorway.

Witness reported that a period of time could not be accounted for.

One black disc, about 80 feet across, about twenty feet away, was observed in partly cloudy weather by one male 50-year-old witness on a farm for 240 minutes. A humming sound was heard. One being was seen.
