END DECEMBER 1914, LEON, LEON, SPAIN, PEOPLE:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

The Spanish ufologist Juan Vicente Ballester Olmos reportedly indicated in 1976 that in or about 1914 in Leon, Spain, a young woman claimed she saw two men wearing silvery objects on the back standing on a road, they flew away using these objects, and several other people in the region saw the same thing that day.

According to Albert Rosales citing Iker Jimenez, it happened in the end of December 1914, at 05:30 p.m., and independent witnesses living in the outskirts of Leon reported seeing two similar, large and thin humanoids wearing something resembling rucksacks on their backs. They were about two meters tall, walked in unison along a path, seeming to be joined together by one arm. Both were wearing tight-fitted outfits of bright green color. At one point they suddenly rose in the air and disappeared in the distance.

Narratives:

[Ref. jc1:] JEROME CLARK:

Jerome Clark says that in 1914, month unknown, in Leon, Spain, several persons together or independently observed lwo "men" wearing silvery objects on their backs. These devices enabled them to fly.

t

He says the source is Ballester Olmos, 1976.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates that in Leon, Spain, late in December 1914, at 05:30 p.m., "Independent witnesses living in the outskirts of this city reported seeing two identical tall thin figures that carried something on their backs resembling rucksacks. Both humanoids were about two meters in height and walked in unison along a path. They seemed to be joined together by one of the arms. Both wore tight-fitting green colored shiny coveralls. At one point both figures suddenly rose into the air and disappeared into the distance."

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Iker Jimenez, Encuentros, La Historia de Los Ovni en España".

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website indicates that in January 1914 at "12:00" in Leon, Spain, there was a "Close encounter with a an unidentified craft and its occupants. A daytime disc was reported."

The sources are indicated as "Ballester Olmos, Vicente-Juan, Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos investigation files", "Hatch, Larry, *U* computer database, Author, Redwood City, 2002".

[Ref. js1:] JEAN SIDER:

The author indicates that in December 1914, at 05:30 p.m., in Leon, Spain, independent witnesses who lived in the surroundings of the city saw two identical silhouettes of slim men of tall size equippied with rucksacks, measuring approximately two meters and walking in unison along a path.

They seemed "to be joined together by the arms". Each one of them wore a green tight-fitting shining outfit of green color. Then at some time the two silhouettes rose in the airs, took distance and were out of sight.

The author indicates that the source is Rosales, citing Iker Jimenez dans Encuentros: La Historia de Los Ovni en Espana.

He wonders whether they were flying tourists.

[Ref. oc1:] "OVNICOR" WEBSITE:

The website indicates that in 1914, which is an uncertain year, Leon, uncertain place, in Spain a witness saw two young men standing carrying silver objects on their backs.

The source is indicated as "CIS et ABO (Ballester Olmos Archive)".

[Ref. pr1:] PETER ROGERSON:

Peter Rogerson says in 1914, approximate year, in Leon, Spain, "A young woman saw two men wearing silvery objects on their backs standing on a road. They flew away using these objects. Several other people in the area saw the same thing on that day."

He indicates that the source is "Ballester - Olmos 1976 case 1, citing CEI)".

Points to consider:

There are many uncertainties here as the sources do not all give exatcly the same descriptions. Were these "young men" or more extraordinary entities?

Juan Vicente Ballester Olmos is a reliable source, a rather "skeptical" ufologist, but the information is meager. Was the rest made up by other sources or is it reliable?

And what exactly is the nature or this report, when was it first given?

Many questions... This is unfortunate, given the high strangeness of the case, and the mention that it would have been seen by multiple independant witnesses.
