1912, NEAR VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, ABRAM PENNER:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Ufological sources indicate that "near Vancouver" in British Columbia, Canada, in 1912, on an unknown date and time, a round machine, "something like a helicopter," with a glass cabin, landed at the farm the father of Abram Penner, or Fenner, then six years old.

There were reportedly small "space men" as occupants.

Penner wrote that "One man felt my body; they admired my hands. They have different hands than we do; they have round feet, short legs, no knees, and no elbows. They operate on mind power; I understood what they said."

His father told him never to tell anyone.

Narratives:

[Ref. bh1:] ROBERT E. BARTHOLOMEW AND GEORGE S. HOWARD:

The authors says that in 1912, in Western Canada, in the morning, a six-year-old boy living on a farm claims to have been in contact with "space men" in a round craft resembling a helicopter. The short male beings had no knees or elbows and had circular feet. They examined the boy, communicating telepathically.

They say the source is John B. Musgrave, UFO Occupants and Critters (Amherst, Wis.: Amherst Press and Global Communications, 1980), pp. 40, 56, citing a personal phone conversation between John Brent Musgrave and the witness, in addition to a letter at the Center for UFO Studies, Evanston, Illinois."

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates that near Vancouver British Columbia, Canada, in 1912, at an unknown time, a round craft "something like a helicopter," with a glass cab, landed on the farm of the father of 6-year old Abram Penner. "One man felt my body; they admired my hands. They have different hands than we do; they have round feet, short legs, no knees, and no elbows. They operate on mind power; I understood what they said." His father told him never to tell anyone.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is J. A. Hynek.

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website indicates that in 1912 in daytime, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, there was a "Close encounter with a an unidentified craft and its occupants. An unidentified object at close range and its occupants were observed by one witness on a farm (Penner)."

The sources are indicated as Webb, David, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports; Bloecher, Ted R., Ted R Bloecher investigation files.

[Ref. js1:] JEAN SIDER:

The author indicates that in 1912 close to Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, a round apparatus resembling "something like a helicopter" with a cabin transparent like glass was seen landing on a farm of the father of Abram Penner, 6 years old.

Many years later the witness told:

"A man felt my body, then he looked at my hands with admiration. The occupants had hands different from ours, and their feet were round, their legs short. They were expressed by the power of their minds, I was able to understand what they told me."

At the time of the occurrence his father commanded him not to tell about the incident to anybody.

Jean Sider indicates that the source is Rosales citing A. J. Hynek.

He comments on that the comparison with a helicopter indicates that the report was made after WWII, and that the problem is that we do not know in which publication J. A. Hynek published the case, perhaps the CUFOS bulletin. He adds that the aliens here are very atypical.

[Ref. pr1:] PETER ROGERSON:

1912 - Morning

(CANADA)

Master A Fenner aged 6 observed a round craft shaped like a helicopter, and was medically examined by small men with round feet, and no knees or elbows, who communicated with him telepathically. His father warned him not to speak about the matter, which only came to light in 1972 when he communicated with Dr J. Allen Hynek.

Musgrave 1979 p40 (case2) + personal communication-citing CUFOS and his own phone conversation with Fenner)

Points to consider:

This is probably just some "contactee" crackpot's letter received by the Center for UFO Studies of astronomer Joseph Allen Hynek in the 1970's or 1980's.
