ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

nothing to report on the radar set that day....Brumath is not overflown by helos or drones....om the other end that town is located right in the middle of an important military combat drill area...the fighters can fly very low...but no fighter has this shape!!! LOL
without more info,it's not easy to investigate...

Map.

The link to the source given by [rnc1] does not lead anymore to the cited report.

In 2002, I and a colleague ufologist had been called by the mother of a young man saying her son and other young people had seen a UFO.

On site, the mother, that we interviewed alone, explained that the young people saw a "great light that illuminated the whole sky."

But the witnesses then told us on location they saw in the sky a "small gray oval object" which had not emitted any light.

This is to explain that as far as I am concerned, second or third hand reports can be completely distorted.

So I can not give any explanation for this case: this could have been various things, aircraft, helicopters, Chinese lanterns...

Evaluation:

Totally insufficient information.
