ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

The return of the triangle

A witness contacted us through our website to report the observation of a luminous dot crossing the sky from East to West at 9:30 p.m. After two blinks, this luninous dot extinguished. We think of the passage of a satellite, but we could not find which one in the list of those who have flownover the area that evening. Perhaps a military satellite, not listed in public bases.

[Image caption:] The phenomenon on August 22, 2002 in Illkirch Graffenstaden

That same day, April 12, around 11:30 p.m., this witness from Breitenbach heard a noise, which he compared to that of an earthquake, but coming from the sky.

Although this information is very weak in itself, we decided to meet with the witness, because the same night, at a different time, a few kilometers away, another witness, friend of the first, saw a very large triangle near Saales. According to what his friend said, he saw two red lights, placed at the ends. Of the more there was a white luminous reflection on the clouds, the witness thinks that it is the reflection of a light source placed above the phenomenon. AT Saales also a loud noise accompanied the triangular shape. Identical facts occurred on August 22, 2002 in the Strasbourg region, see issue 3 of our review. Our association launched an appeal for witnesses and opened an investigation.

On several other occasions, we have heard of him, unfortunately we do not have the contact details of the witnesses.

More in the next issue.

Discussion:

Map.

The case consisted in hearing a noise coming from above; but whereas the noise is described as misldy odd, it is not possible to claim that it came from an extraterrestrial craft rather than an erthly craft.

Evaluation:

Insufficient information, low strangeness.
