ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Summary:

In his 2012 book about UFOs in Alsace, Christian Valentin told that local ufologist Eric Antoine, in 1987, collected the following account:

One evening in the winter of 1941 or 1942, around 11 p.m., a 45-year-old lady, in the company of five other people, had witnessed from her home in Lièpvre, the complex maneuvers of a red ball or sphere a few centimeters above the snow-covered ground, at a distance of 250 meters from their dwelling, in a westerly direction.

Christian Valentin noted that these memories were old, but nevertheless strongly moved the witness.

The author indicates that a luminous ball manifestation was reported during WWII, from civilian sources and from the ground.

This comes from memories whose date is imprecise because collected long after the events, by Eric Antoine, in 1987, but which nevertheless strongly marked the witnesses.
