October 7, 1954, Toulouse, Midi-Pyrénées:

Reference for this case: 7-Oct-54-Toulouse.
Please cite this reference in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

In 1971, ufologist Charles Garreau, discussing of "aligned" cases, put one in "Mulhouse" on October 7, 1954. There were no case in Mulhouse on this date, but there was one in Toulouse.

In 1979, the "skeptical" ufologists Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker told that there was a case on October 7, 1954, at approximately 1 o'clock, in Toulouse.

They said they investigated and that it was a "luminous phenomenon on the level of the clouds."

Reports:

[Ref. cgu1:] CHARLES GARREAU:

Evoking the case of Marliens in 1967, this author, journalist and pioneering ufologist, explained that the site of this "landing" is at the intersection of "aligned" cases including in particular that of "Mulhouse" on October 7, 1954.

[Ref. bbr1:] GERARD BARTHEL AND JACQUES BRUCKER:

The two authors note this case of October 7, 1954:

"Toulouse - 31 - at approximately 1 o'clock: investigation. Luminous phenomenon on the level of the clouds."

Explanations:

Map.

The "investigations" of Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker are often presented like this: an almost total lack of information.

We do not know where they got the report from, there is no indicated source, we do not know what "explanation" they have in mind, we do not know what was the nature of the case before their "discoveries", nothing is known about witnesses etc., etc.

What would we hear if a "proponent" ufologist presented one of his "investigations" like this...

My conclusion for now: totally insufficient information.
