Luc Chastan indicates that in the Charente Maritime in St Savinien on October 7, 1954, at 19:45 hours, "a luminous disc of orange color was seen flying at low altitude, stopping and setting out again in direction of the west."
Luc Chastan indicates that the source is "M.O.C. par Michel Aimé ** Arthaud 1958".

The website indicates that on 7 October 1954 at 19:15 in St Savinien, France, "A hovering object was observed. One object, about 20 feet across, was observed by three witnesses."
