In their 1979 book "OVNI, Premier Dossier Complet des Rencontres Rapprochées en France", the two authors and ufologists Michel Figuet and Jean-Louis Ruchon indicated that on October 5, 1954, in Pessac in the Gironde deprtment, a man was blinded by "gleams."
