Please cite this reference in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

The regional newspaper La Bourgogne Républicaine for July 23, 1954, reported that on July 20, 1954, around 4 p.m., Mr. Lucas, director of the Juvénal des Ursins Clinic on Rue Champeaux in Troyes, was in his office when he was called by one of his employees.

Mr. Lucas thus rushed into the courtyard and, following the direction indicated by his employee's arm, saw an unusual craft moving in the clear blue sky.

Together with Doctors Guny, Bertrand, and several members of the clinic's staff, Mr. Lucas observed the movement of this craft, which was visibly rotating on itself, surrounded by a kind of green halo, and looked nothing like an airplane.

This craft gradually rose and was eventually lost from sight.

The local newspaper L'Echo Nogentais for July 24, 1954, noted:

"Is it a mirage? Tuesday [thus July 20, 2954], at about 4 p.m., flying saucers were seen in the sky of Troyes."

Jacques Vallée noted in a computer catalog a case of UFO of July 21, 1954, at 4 p.m., in Troyes. There was no other information and no source reference.

In 2019, on the Web, a Web page on observations in the Aube department was published by one Jacques Schweitzer. It aid that on July 20, 1954, at 4 p.m., in Troyes, nine people had observed an extremely brilliant ball that turned on itself, and that this observation was confirmed by the director of the Juvénal-des-Ursins clinic who had installed an observatory on the roof of his establishment.

AN UNUSUAL CRAFT IN THE SKY OVER TROYES

On Tuesday, around 4 p.m., Mr. Lucas, director of the Juvénal des Ursins Clinic on Rue Champeaux in Troyes, was in his office when he was suddenly called by one of his employees.

"Sir, come quickly."

Mr. Lucas rushed into the courtyard, and his eyes followed the direction indicated by his employee's arm.

In the clear blue sky, an unusual craft was moving about.

Together with Doctors Guny, Bertrand, and several members of the clinic's staff, Mr. Lucas observed the movement of the craft, which was visibly rotating on itself, surrounded by a sort of green halo, and looked nothing like an airplane.

It rose gradually and then completely disappeared.

Mr. Lucas regretted not having a camera at hand, as he could have captured on film the mysterious craft, which exactly matched the descriptions of flying saucers reported by the American army.
