Summary:

The first mention of this case is in the ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit #319 of July 1993, where it is said that on October 1, 1954, in Sucé-sur-Erdre, near Nantes in the Loire-Atlantique department, there was an observation for a few minutes first on the ground, then rising to 300 meters, of an elongated cylinder, which "left at the speed of a meteor."

Ufologist and author Jean Sider then indicated in 1997 that an article of the regional newspaper La Résistance de l'Ouest, of Nantes, on page 2 for October 4, 1954, reported this case of October 1st, 1954 in Sucé-sur-Erdre in Loire-Atlantique described by this text without any witness name:

"We were returning from Chateaubriant at approximately 01:30 in the night from Thursday to Friday. We were facing the marsh of Sucé, when we saw a machine having the shape of an elongated cylinder of approximately five meters in diameter. This object rose vertically during three hundred meters, it seemed to to me, and appeared to hover during a few minutes. It left a little later at the speed of a meteor."
