In the 2000s, ufologist Luc Chastan noted in his online database of the French UFO cases that, according to the ufology magazine Lumières Dans la Nuit, there had been in 1954 in Fort-de-France, Martinique, a sighting by one witness who observed for 5 minutes a square-shaped object moving in the sky.
Luc Chastan indicates that the object "had an extraordinary ascending speed and emitted a phosphorescent indigo color."
